Brilliant value for money
Pros:

Rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was plentyful and well cooked, all staff were very friendly.

Cons:

The third floor in general needs a deep clean and is a little dated and tired

L’emplacement

Cons:

Nous venons de passer notre séjour à l’hôtel Buthu Ben Doran Hôtel à Tyndrum.
Quelle déception car ce que nous trouvons en arrivant est en complet décalage avec ce que nous imaginions. Les photos sur booking n’ont que peu de concordance avec la réalité, ou tout du moins semblent avoir été prises il y a très longtemps. Les chambres sont vieillottes, et particulièrement la chambre « single » qui offre juste une vieille cabine de douche type camping sans pommeau, aucune chaîne tv sur notre tv allumée juste pour voir ce qui fonctionnait ou pas, poussière faite de manière très superficielle. Pour le sèche cheveux, absent de la chambre « single » et bien caché dans un tiroir de la table de nuit de la chambre double mais incompatible avec les branchements électriques de la salle de bains. Et tout cela en lisant que nous étions « surclassés » parce que membre Genius Booking. Heureusement qu’il y avait ce surclassement sinon notre nuit aurait relevée d’un simple refuge rudimentaire de haute montagne. Heureusement le personnel est discret et pas désagréable et les paysages environnants sont magnifiques, mais la déception est quand même grande. Pour nous le prix est en complet désaccord avec la qualité des prestations.

Perfect location for the west highland way
Pros:

Nice big comfortable room, reasonable breakfast. Everywhere nice and clean

Its ok for the night
Pros:

Looks a nice hotel from the outside, near town for walking, nenna was friendly and did her best at dinner

Cons:

Super busy at dinner so service was slow, dinner itself is a basic menu ala carte as looks like they prefer the buffet option.

The bar area needs a good clean, windows dirty, ledges dusty with dead flies.

Eher luxuriöse Unterkunft für WHW Wanderer.
Pros:

Saubere Zimmer und Bad. Grosses, bequemes Bett. Jeden Tag eine Wasserflasche.

Cons:

WLan war schwach und die Verbindung fiel häufig raus.
Man könnte noch mehr tun für die Umwelt: Recyclin z. B. von Dosen oder Petflaschen. Und die Badetücher müssen nicht jeden Tag gewechselt werden.

Dated hotel that needs investment to bring it up to date
Pros:

The gardens and the games room

Cons:

The rooms clearly hadn’t been updated since the 1970s.
The room smelt like it had been an ex smoking room.
The taps didn’t work well in the bathroom and the combo shower was trial and error to get the water temp correct.
They have a good games room with table tennis, pool and darts - however, the pool table only had three balls. Some of The darts were broken so could not take flights. These should be easy to remedy.
Parking seemed inadequate when we were there.
We were woken at 5am by the laundry collection and a lot of banging when we were trying to get to sleep.
There was a large breakfast offering although the fried eggs were really greasy. The hotel caters for many tour groups so expect to be marginalised at breakfast.
Finally, there is no aircon nor fans so in hot weather this is not a good choice.
