Room was clean and okay, breakfast was okay but nothing exceptional, food arrived on request, hot food had been in trays for a while and looked it.
Generally the hotel looks tired and is such a big sprawling place it is not sign posted very well.
Where it was situated, peaceful, quiet and clean
They were a bit short staffed but the staff were very nice
Location
Seemed a little out dated, the bar was a long walk.
The bedroom was very spacious with a nice balcony. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful grounds. We requested a room change and the helpful young lady on reception organised this quickly without any problem.
All staff members were so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very well run.
The bar was card only payments, be good to have the option of using cash. We were initially allocated a room in the 16th Century Hall building, which was not suitable for us as it has many stairs and no lift.
enjoyed the spa facilities and the location of the hotel both of which made the stay feel relaxing and convenient
VERY disappointed to find carpet beetles in the bed and on the towels which was quite off putting and unhygienic

The main hall is very old and run down do not get a superior room as the classic doubles are in a much better condition
The room was comfortable & warm.
I thought the restaurant provided a surprisingly small selection of evening meals. My meal was OK, but the overall prices were excessive for fish & chips, pie & chips, etc.
The staff in the restaurant could be more watchful regarding diners who required attention.
Location and setting
Lacked atmosphere for New Years Eve
Restaurant and main reception areas OK. Spa & pool was OK )if the pool was a little warm for lane swimming) but the pool is very shallow (knee deep) so not conducive to lane swimming
Meal was very expensive for what it was - Fish and chips - the peas were in a ramakin, the fish was no larger than the palm of my hand AND they added 10% service gratuity to the bill - foolish of me not to notice till afterwards.
The room was in the main building. Falling to bits is a basic description.
Bed was comfy and the pillows were good.
Nice place
Booking.com
The room was comfortable but the food poor was not good, plain, expensive for what it was.
The pool water was warm and cloudy it didn’t entice me to want to stay in the pool. There were no lanes for a proper swim the side of the pool are very narrow.
Nothing
The hotel had the heating broken, bedroom top sheets had semen and snot and dirt on them, had to pay extra for swimming. We contacted reception and booking.com who said we could cancel and they would confirm and refund however, since then they have refused the refund even though they told us we could leave and would cancel. Avoid booking at this hotel and with booking.com. Will never use booking.com again.
Stayed in modern block, not the old hall. The room was like a posh premier inn room. Soap provided was lovely. Be sure to take time to walk around the grounds and lake as very enjoyable.
Sauna was too hot and too small. Tried to use swimming pool on a Saturday. Uncomfortably busy.
Couldn’t believe the bar did not have Guinness 0%. As the restaurant had poor reviews on Booking. Com we didn’t risk it and booked dinner at a nearby Wellesbourne pub.
Nice large room, quiet surroundings.
Dim lighting in the room
Bulb gone over bed
Toilet did not flush correctly
Unusable plug socket
Shouldn’t have to pay to go swimming if a guest at hotel
Well run, excellent food. Staff friendly and service was good. Nice bar area to relax in.
