Good value overnight accommodation
Pros:

Hotel generally very good- efficient and helpful staff, extensive breakfast, good facilities and beautiful gardens.

Cons:

Only slight complaint was room very hot and airless as windows could not be opened more than a fraction( obviously H&S rules- but could have had a fan provided) Also unusual location of kettle in wardrobe - issues of steam/ condensation on clothing!

Amazing stay, 4/5 from me 🤍
Pros:

A solid 4 stars out of 5. Thought I’d go trough it step by step.

Staff are marvellous, friendly, attentive , spot on! We had booked executive suite (that has bigger bed than suite with patio funnily enough 😂). Patio is literally ground floor with ability to come out to your private 12 tiles 👀, so I don’t think is worth upgrading unless you need that access to the field from your room.

It was super hot (32 degrees) as we came during heatwave may 2026, fridge had water supplied, but we finished it and forgot to get water before sleeping, we called reception at night and literally they brought two cold water bottles in no time! Also one fan was not enough to cool both rooms, so they provided us with extra one (fyi small table one blows even stronger than the big freestanding fans haha)

Pool area is great (go off peak and you will enjoy the most) we had robes and slippers in our room included. Pool is a bit colder than pool area which is understandable, but it’s still warm water. There is sauna too, changing is small but convenient if you need to keep your stuff there are lockers.
Outside is beautiful relaxation zone only available for guests of hotel though and during pool opening hours.

Grounds are nice, but not much to see, we did go for a walk and saw cows 🐄 😂 there is a great bar restaurant if you are drinking (unlike us) you will enjoy it I think. Also bar and lobby near it has aircon 😂 i think it’s tactical move to keep us there.

Manor house is beautiful, we wondered around and saw drawing room, beautiful staircase and outside lounge area!

We also celebrated my birthday, so received a warm wishes in a card from the staff 🤍

We had booked bed and breakfast, once again staff in restaurant were very friendly and polite, welcomed us and cleaned the table we sat at. Overall positive experience due to hard work of staff.

Cons:

This property has no air conditioning in the rooms! That is one of the reasons i took off one star. Pool closes at 8pm and last entry 7:30 pm which is way too early for summer, especially during heat waves. Opens 8 am.

Must admit suite was smaller than I expected (cot bed will not fit inside bedroom be aware, it fits only in sitting room), but very glad we booked it, cause this means standard and deluxe rooms are even smaller. If traveling with small baby (ours just 2 months old) keep that in mind.

Choice of food for breakfast was standard English breakfast, we came at 8:20, i think it closes at 9:30, but some things ran out .. maybe were later topped up, didn’t see (do prebook breakfast in adviance via booking save the money, as I wouldn’t say it’s worth 20£ per person, as we booked online it was way cheaper).

Brilliant Find
Pros:

Beautiful location. We stayed in an executive suite which gave us the extra space. Plenty of parking onsite. Very nice gym and well equipped.

You require a car to get around. There are charge points onsite for electric cars.

It is possible to walk from the hotel to the shoulder of mutton pub across the fields.

The hotel serves very nice evening meals and had a good range of wines/beers/cocktails.

Staff were extremely helpful. Very happy with our stay.

Cons:

Spa did get very busy. The restaurant did feel more like a canteen.

Nice area, lovely walks, excellent facilities, unfortunately we had a few room problems.
Pros:

Great location for what we needed to do in the area.

Cons:

Our room had a broken sink filled with mastic along with the front panel hanging well below the sink, I asked maintenance to look at the problem, I couldn’t be put right and we were offered a room change with an upgrade, this also had a problem with a flashing light in the bathroom which I reported before we left.

Pros:

Lovely location

Cons:

It seems the owners have tried to squeeze as many rooms as possible. Leaving it more Premier Inn than luxury.
