Lovely hotel
Loved outside area near the pool
Nice food
Lovely room
There was no aircondtioning in the room
We got a second fan but it was unbearably hot in the room overnight (during a heat wave)
Looks amazing on booking.com
Looks nothing like it when you arrive
Od standard hotel
Small pool
Bit of a let down
The staff were lovely, the property aesthetically pleasing, the grounds are stunning and the use of sauna and steam room from check in to check out.
The room we were given was very small which is not a massive deal as we was only there for 1 night but the cleaning done before our arrival was not thorough, we more so noticed in the bathroom.
Staff and grounds
Food wasn’t great.
Nice Manor House and grounds
Food was good
Don’t be fooled by the Manor House, you don’t stay there. They don’t show the 100s of rooms connected at the back of the grounds.
Not the hotel fault but muck spreading in surrounding fields made the hotel stink.
Hot room but did supply a fan.
Expensive food and drink in Harrys Bar.
Paying extra £10 for a robe in the spa.
House set in picturesque grounds. Upgraded to executive suite with huge comfortable bed, seating area & large bathroom, all tastefully decorated. Great meal in restaurant & wide choice at breakfast. Rate was very reasonable.
As expected. Liked that they always topped up the food
The mattress was very uncomfortable. Could feel every spring in the mattress. Complained about it and nothing happened so I checked out early
The customer service was excellent
The rooms were quite small but still nice
Room size, breakfast and out open areas
Overall, Horwood House Hotel was aesthetically pleasing and very clean.
Unfortunately, my experience with the reception staff did not meet the same standard. I believe they would benefit from additional customer service training to ensure that all guests are treated with courtesy, respect, and professionalism, regardless of their ethnic background or social status.
My room was not serviced, despite placing the housekeeping notice outside my door before the stated deadline of 8:00 a.m. When I reported this to reception, the staff member initially asked the appropriate questions but then gave the impression that she did not believe my account, which I found disappointing.
What concerned me even more was my experience at check-out. While I was waiting to be served, another reception staff member ignored me and assisted someone else who arrived later. This left me feeling overlooked and undervalued as a guest.
While the hotel's appearance and cleanliness were excellent, the poor customer service I experienced at reception significantly affected my stay. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel.
Requires working elevators.
Excellent place to stay. Staff are brilliant, lovely gym. Food excellent
It was all good
Staff was friendly and the location is lovely
At £400/ night I expected more than a Premier in bedroom ( in a different colour) minus the AC. The room is clean but very basic, only enough instant coffee for one cup each and NO AC only a noisy fan. Very disappointing. The spa pool has a very dirty scum line and is off putting due to the dirty look it gives.
