The room was superb, clean and well stocked with the makings for drinks. We ordered breakfast which is delivered to your room, it was super tasty and plenty of it, one of the biggest bacon sandwiches I have ever eaten. Would definitely stay here again, the location is great, a short walk from the train station and a similar short distance through the park into the heart of York.
Nothing.
Location is great, clean rooms nicely decorated.
The top floor room we had was very small (especially the bathroom and beds - we did request twin beds; but these were still very small) and at the time of our stay we weren’t told in advance about the building work going on outside of our room from very early morning, nor was anything done to address it when it was mentioned.
How close it was to the city centre and the rooms were nice
Unfortunately our door locked and we couldn’t gain access to our room between the hours of 1am and 4.45am due to incompetent staff, he was rude and made our first night very stressful. The day staff were very helpful but the experience then dampened our stay due to being tired and having to push back our plans.
Great location and staff

Beautiful room
The Jorvik Hotel is very well placed, just a short walk across the museum gardens and you are in the center of York.
We were given a slip of paper with our room key, which informed us that "for our convenience" they don't service the room unless you inform them before 10am that you would like it done, we didn't realise this until it was too late, resulting in me having to request some more toilet paper, we paid over £500 for a 2 night room only stay in the junior suite, for that price I wasn't expecting to have to request the basics!
This isn't for our convenience, its management money saving and they should be transparent enough to publish this on the booking sites or inform you when you check in.
Our room was nice but definitely not luxury, and not worth the money paid, it had a nice bath but the window overlooked the building site, also not something we were informed about.
Location, decor, comfy bed, staff helpfulness. It’s a great place to explore the centre of York from. While it has no car park it’s very close to a long stay car park which made things easy.
Doors were quite noisy to open and close which led to disturbed sleep. Ground floor Double Room had a faintly musty smell. Top floor twin was very close to another room hence the noise disturbance.

Super nice little hotel, perfect location (10 mins walk from the train station, 5 mins walk to the Minster). The staff at the reception was lovely, the room was cozy, quiet and warm. I have looked at other, slightly cheaper places in York and decided to splurge a bit and it was absolutely worth the money. 100% recommend!
