Pros:

This was the most exceptional stay of my trip. A former monastery, it retains its sense of calm. It's tucked away off the street, adding to the calm. Reception was friendly and helpful. Everything was impeccable. Ghent itself is delicious, and PoortAckere is 5-star!

Cons:

I didn't like leaving!

Very good stay, not the cheapest option but worth the money!
Pros:

Excellent location, only a 10 minute walk to the central Cathedral area. The property itself is very clean and staff seemed to be helpful whenever I spoke to them. The breakfast was very good, a wide range of options from smoked salmon, eggs, bacon, lots of bread and pastry as well as cereal, yoghurt, granola etc.

Cons:

There was nothing to complain about really, it ended up costing a little more than I expected when I paid on arrival at around £230 for two nights, but considering the quality of the accommodation and breakfast etc I’d say it was worth the money.

Aufenthalt in einem historischen Gebäude.
Pros:

Schönes, altes Klostergebäude, gemeinsame Duschräume waren jederzeit sauber gereinigt. Lage zum Zentrum in Spaziergang-Distanz.

Cons:

Preis für ein Einzelzimmer mit geminsamer Dusche/WC zu hoch.

A charming place with lots of character
Pros:

An absolutely lovely place! The atmosphere of an old monastery is pretty magical. It's quiet, cozy and charming. The personnel was very helpful, the room and bathrooms were perfectly clean, and even though I booked a "budget" room option, it felt a little luxurious, with a fuzzy robe and slippers waiting for me in the room, conditioners and lotions in the bathrooms and warm drinks available. I loved stumbling into a gorgous chapel with stained glass windows inside the hotel. 10/10, would recommend!

Cons:

tiny complaint: the doors are loudly squeaking with each movement, and even though it's understandable in an old building like that, perhaps it could be somewhat improved by some maintenance.

A pretty magical place to stay in Ghent
Pros:

Beautiful converted monastery with basic but comfortable rooms. The shared bathrooms were clean and convenient. All the staff were friendly and professional. The church is worth a look, too.

Cons:

They could maybe do with some new pillows, but otherwise no complaints.

Exceptional
Pros:

Amazing location, super close to everything. You can walk or take tram/bus from main station very easily. The building is gorgeous if a little confusing to navigate. The single rooms have a sink in the room and then a separate shared shower and toilet (which is inside a gorgeous spiral staircase).

Great location and very friendly staff
Pros:

The location was very nice - in the city center but in a calmer area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I liked the fact that the showers and toilets were separate instead of cabins like it often is. The room was simple - as expected - but it had all I needed for my stay. Big plus for the bath robes and change of towels. The hotel was also very clean.

Cons:

There was an issue with my room ( a busted window) when I checked-in but it was solved by the staff and they were very quick and efficient about it so it wasn't really a big issue in the end I didn't like it that the light from the corridor was visible from the glass panel above my door - it was a bit annoying at night. The building also carries the noise - but that's to be expected in an old building.

Quiet and calming, as though the spirits of the sisters who once lived there were welcoming me home.
Pros:

I stayed in a cell built for a nun. The windows had gothic arches and it was quite narrow. It had its own sink

Cons:

The handle on the toilet door down the hallway was broken
