Nice wiev, friendly staff

Staff is really friendly and welcoming. That’s the fourth year in a row I travel on my birthday and this was the only hotel where the staff congratulated me through the day, offered me a drink, and made the day feel even more special!
Cleaning team also deserve a mention: every day the room was cleaned really fast and it was always in perfect shape.

We stayed at Pestana Promenade Madeira as a couple and with a small child and although our stay did not start as expected, the outstanding service made all the difference.

On the first day, we were assigned a ground-floor room that was quite dark and located near the pool, which made too noisy and not ideal for a relaxing stay for professionals looking to unwind.
The only other rooms initially available were very similar, so we were understandably disappointed.

Rui at the front office was great attentive, proactive, and quick to involve his department manager Mr.Duarte Santos, to find a solution. Thanks to their quick action, they managed to free up the best available room on the top floor. The new room was spacious, bright, and private, with two large balconies and a private terrace that truly offered tranquility and peace.

The following day, we received a lovely gesture from the property director, GM Julio Marques— a fruit arrangement accompanied by a handwritten note — which made us feel genuinely cared for.

The restaurant and bar staff also deserve special mention for their friendliness, attentiveness, and warm hospitality throughout our stay.
The location is excellent, with a very pleasant surrounding area, and the facilities are good and well maintained.

What could have been an ordinary experience was elevated into a great one thanks to the team’s professionalism, responsiveness, and commitment to guest satisfaction. We would happily return.

I recently stayed at here with my wife and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel’s layout is fantastic, offering a welcoming and spacious atmosphere. The pool area is absolutely beautiful, providing a perfect spot to relax. The different bars on-site were fantastic, each offering a unique vibe and great atmosphere. We attended the Fado Dinner which was an absolutely magical experience. The hotel’s proximity to the main town was excellent, making it super convenient to explore local attractions. A lovely touch was the complimentary fruit bowl we received during our stay, and on my wife’s birthday, the hotel surprised us with complimentary sparkling wine delivered to our room, which was such a thoughtful gesture. Overall, everything was absolutely exceptional, and we left with wonderful memories. Highly recommend this hotel!

Luxurious stay in beautiful Madeira for 7 nights. We enjoyed a welcome drink and basket of fruit on arrival. We had a room with a side sea view. However to our surprise it also included a mini cooking station with fridge and sink. The breakfast was delicious and varied each morning . Staff were attentive and professional. Housekeeping was excellent. Our room was cleaned daily .
The hotel facilities were ideal for a winter sun break. The indoor swimming pool was amazing . The outdoor pool was used also as it was warm during our stay. The sauna and steam room completed the spa experience.
We were able to experience a Madeira tasting buffet and enjoy folk dancing and entertainment. A perfect stay .

Just returned from 7 nights at Pestana Promenade. The hotel is lovely with beautiful gardens/ pool area. All areas are spotlessly clean and staff friendly, helpful and professional. The buffet dinner has an adequate choice and the quality and taste is excellent. The soups were particularly delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed every meal. The hotel was quiet in January and so the lounge/bar lacked atmosphere but this was made up for by the community feel to the hotel. Most guests seemed to be part of the Pestana membership scheme and appeared to return time and time again. Everyone was friendly and chatty and ready to give you excellent tips and ideas to enhance your stay. The bar also ran two happy hours when drinks were half price and cocktails had 20%off. It's hard to find anything negative about this hotel but we did have 2 minor irritations. Firstly the bathroom has a huge window into the bedroom. Privacy can be obtained by lowering the blind but it meant that using the bathroom overnight had to be done without putting on the light as it would be too bright for the bedroom. Secondly, every time you bought a drink 10% was added to the bill without your consent. No explanation of how the money is distributed was given. Tipping is an emotive issue but unless you wanted to make a fuss and refuse to pay it three or four times per night you had to pay.

This is our 4th or 5th visit to the promenade and while the location is 1st class the main thing we like most about this place is the friendliness and helpfullness of the staff who all seem to be happy at their work and nothing is too much bother long may it continue

The surroundings, service, food, facilities, staff and everything else were absolutely exceptional.

It was my mother’s birthday and the staff could not to enough to make her day special.

Extremely impressed all round.
