Clean and comfortable in a superb situation
Furniture was a little tired.
great location, large, comfortable and very clean room, excellent breakfast
Only the weather was poor!
Location and staff were brilliant
We could have used instructions for the heating in the room as we were cold. The room and bathroom could use a bit of updated.
Location was fantastic and room was lovely with a great view of the cathedral. Breakfast was nice.
Hardly anyone else staying at the hotel and had a meal in the restaurant (only ones in there) then went to the bar where workers were drilling and banging, taking part of the floor up 9pm…Couldn’t get away from the noise. Check in was 3.30 but I had sent a message asking for early check in, but room wasn’t ready. Went for a walk and came back at 4.30 and still wasn’t ready. Couldn’t understand this as apparently there were only 10 others staying in the hotel
Location, right in the centre of town.
The staff were great. I had a couple of issues with the room which they efficiently solved to my satisfaction.
The room furnishings were a bit dated and worn. But all was clean and tidy.
Great location. Lovely view, quiet room
Broken bedside lamp.
Receptionist spent 20 minutes on the phone to a potential customer while we were stood waiting to check in after a long journey.
Thanks for everything :)
Position is excellent
The decor needs smartening up a fraction
La. Vue sur la cathédrale
Hôtel vieillot qui a besoin de travaux
Good welcome at the desk. Helpful staff at breakfast.
Well situated in Winchester.
My room was freezing. Even though the room itself was warm, the bed was exceedingly cold and me along with it.
Room in need of a good update.
Squeaky lift.
The Staff were very helpful, and the room was ready when we arrived more than 3 hours earlier than the check-in time.
Everything about our overnight stay met our expectations (however, see remarks below)
The water pressure was not strong, so the shower was a bit weak.
There were no bar snacks available (peanuts/crisps) (a small matter!).
Clean and had a great view of the Winchester Cathedral, Parking was easy and not complicated to pay for etc.
No real complaints but perhaps better greeting on entering the hotel.
Good location , keys kept not working
Owner was there and all staff were on tender hooks
The position is wonderful with a great view of the Cathedral and very central.
The bathrooms are old fashioned and scruffy and need updating. Some of the room furnishing is also tired.
The room setup worked perfectly for us as a couple with two very small children. The value for money on the stay itself was good.
When we asked for the sofa bed to be made up, and for a travel cot, we didn’t anticipate that the pillows from the main bed would have to be used for all three (main bed, sofa bed, cot). So for a family of four, we had one pillow each and there was no sheet/blanket for the cot (we brought our own mattress but didn’t think to bring bedding). The breakfast selection was not good value for money - limited fruit (e.g. no bananas) and no pastries etc.
In the town
Very run down bathroom needs replacing and very dirty under the bed
