It was easy to get too and had private off road parking with good WiFi. Also dog friendly, although they do charge for assistance dogs! Nice and quiet, did not see any other guests or staff entire stay.
The brand new refurbished bedroom had a heavily stained carpet, there was no food served after 21.00 and the breakfast was like a starter ‘tiny’ portion and luke warm.
Location parking
Removal of work colleagues belongings before he checked out at 9.15 am
Parking, easy walk to the centre, helpful staff.
Had to negotiate steps along hallway to room, reception and bar areas had dark decor, plastic bag left under bed from previous stay.
Refurbished room, car park and location
Breakfast was average.
Excellent
Convenient to the centre of York and dog friendly
The location was excellent for walking to the town and Cathedral. The man on reception Will was lovely. Totally friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Evening meal was lovely and breakfast was a huge choice of everything you could want. Beautiful suite with huge bathroom and massive bath, walk in shower, his and hers basins, everything you could want, even bathrobes.
Wish we had booked for longer
For a dog friendly hotel it really is, my wife and I feel our dog was treated as any other guest..
Could do with a bitter on tap, lager is fine but not my preferred drink.
Booked Abbots Barton for a one night stay on way up from Devon to see family. We could not fault anything about the hotel. As soon as you walked in, there was a very calming ambience. On arrival we had been upgraded to one of their new rooms (as we were informed when booking, that the hotel was being re-furbished) and it was probably one of the best designed rooms we have stayed in (and we travel a lot!). Comfortable bed and luxurious linen. The room was decorated to a high standard and had everything you would wish for. Even had speakers in the shower/bathroom, so when listening to the radio, did not miss any news. Staff were professional, friendly and could not do enough for you.
Food in the bar area was exceptional and prices reasonable.
Yes, there are parts of the hotel that some may class as "dated", including the lift that was carpeted - just added to the charm of the place.
Easy walk to the main centre of Canterbury and we will most definitely be booking this hotel again so that we can explore more of the area.
Clean and well located
We arrived and got given a very old fashioned basic room. We asked to move and the staff said that was ok which good. The breakfast was under stocked, coffee machine broken and staff very miserable.
Hotel incrível, localização excelente, extremamamente confortável, café da manhã maravilhoso!

Room was okay, clean and warm. Staff pleasant. Helpful with arranging taxi.
Out dated decor in room. Rusty shower rail. Broken shower tubing. Cracked bathroom floor tiles. No drinking glass, complementary tea and coffee basic.
Food very poor. Pizza dreadful. Overpriced.
Good location for short walk into Canterbury
