Perfectly acceptable for a business trip but would not stay for a personal trip
Pros:

The room was good and the bed comfortable.
Water was warm.
Central to the town, facilities and canal.

Cons:

1) The pool was not ready to be used when it was stated that it was. This was one of the reasons why I booked this hotel
2) The pressure of the water was not great for showering
3) Not a good selection for GF continental breakfast and due to time I was not able to select any hot food. There was a large part of the menu however that had additional costs and I felt the cost of the breakfast was high and should not warrent extra charges
4) The carpets were rather stained
5) Although it did not effect me I think peoples with mobility issues would struggle to navigate all the steps around the hotel

Ein tolles Hotel
Pros:

Basic stay with a high price - could use some updating and maintenance.
Pros:

The hotel was in a good location, next to a petrol station and had a lot of available parking. It was large, and was nice to see so many original parts of the building kept. Breakfast items were quality, I had a sausage sandwich which was tasty as was the full English - not keen on the 'potato scone' would prefer hash brown, mini potato or an alternative as the potato scone was stodgy.

Cons:

The hotel was dated, rooms not very well maintained - it could do with some money spent on it/updates. Considering the price, breakfast wasn't fantastic (fairly small continental selection) with avocado on toast being an upgrade cost! The pool wasn't working when we stayed which was largely a reason we booked this stay over others. The beds weren't very comfortable, sheets felt like polyester, pillows hard and the AC didn't work so we woke up to a furnace in the middle of the night. Shower also was temperamental but the pressure was good. Would also suggest not parking under any trees when you stay as my car became covered in bird poo (obviously not the hotels fault, just frustrating as I washed it prior to my stay).

Pros:

Property was very picturesque and good location

Cons:

Unfortunately no lifts . Price for breakfast was ridiculous at £24 for full English if not purchased with room, an extra £5 charge for egg Benedict!!!Which we ordered and only just finished eating it when waitress came to us for payment, give us chance to swallow the last mouthful first, !!!!Wasn’t informed beforehand pool wasn’t open
