Also an area where you could relax together and discuss the days events

Wonderful staff, large rooms, great facilities, close to shops and station. Short walk to main area, highly recommend!
Pros:

Loved the property facilities, large rooms, playroom for the kids, entertainment room you can rent out for some quiet time, rooftop view, close to supermarket and sights, short walk to station, very friendly and helpful staff. It was a pleasure to stay here, our kids loved it!

Cons:

Nothing it was fantastic, we would recommend and come back

Great hotel for a family that enjoys a bit more space
Pros:

The facilities at Mimaru were great and the room is spacious for a family. The staff are excellent and very willing and able to help. They are a credit to the hotel chain. We were given a quiet room which was a big plus. There is a rooftop terrace that you can access up to 9pm. There is also a supermarket over the road that has all the conveniences you'll need for your stay. The kitchen is small but has the necessary items. The bathroom is large (twin basins) along with a spacious wet room.

Cons:

A couple of minor negatives include: bed is very firm, not much of a view from our room; not that it mattered as we were only there during sleeping hours anyway (and there is a rooftop terrace with views over the city and hills beyond), toilets open out to the main living space (but there are 2). Location is ok - it's still a 15 minute walk to the main streets of Kawaramachi, the Nishiki markets or Gion. We used Taxi's via the Go App most times and it was only roughly $10 to each of these tourist hotspots for all 4 of us.
