Although conveniently located in the Historic Center and the rooms were clean, I highly discourage you from booking here. Expedia accidentally booked me for the wrong date, when they called to rectify the dates, the hotel insisted on charging me anyway. Then I rebooked for the correct dates and was told everything was in order. BUT Wait, when I arrived the receptionist said I had no reservation and that it had been canceled. I explained that the wrong dates had been canceled and that I was given a confirmation number and showed her the number. She didn't acknowledge that. ( That should have been my second red flag). So standing there with suitcases in hand I rebooked right then and there for that night, and Friday AND SUNDAY. ( Saturday I was going to SMdA).
She confirmed. BUT WAIT AGAIN.
When we got back on the Sunday, The same receptionist who confirmed the three nights, once again told me I didn't have a reservation for that night. SERIOUSLY!!!!
DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!!!!
Excellent location, very clean, great sized rooms with comfortable beds, friendly staff, good price- right in the heart of the action in Queretaro. Tip if you turn right outside of the hotel and walk not very far there are some really fab local cafes with excellent food- we loved Begonia Mandarina and the bakery cafe directly opposite best conchas ever ( DONUTS).
The square most local to this hotel the locals salsa dance in the evenings.
Really great hotel.
First time traveler to Queretaro.
This boutique hotel satisfied and surpassed all my expectations: clean, quiet, location, and service/hospitality.
If you're looking for simplicity in a prime area, I would highly recommend.
I walked to all the gardens/plazas, calle Cinco de Mayo, both mercados, and the mirador to see the aqueduct. For further excursions, you can book an Uber, Di Di, or the local taxis.
The staff was pleasant and attentive. I'd like to specifically thank Laura & Ghislayn at the front desk and Magdalana in housekeeping for treating me like VIP. People like them make your trip extra memorable.
I loved waking up early morning to enjoy a cup of coffee in the reception area or courtyard. While there, staff was always available to answer any questions I had.
Although there was no AC in my room, the ceiling fan did the job. One other slight negative was the rock hard pillows but I was still able to get a good nights rest.
All in all, excellent stay. Downtown Queretaro is a safe place that has something for everyone.
We really love this hotel, its located in downtown Queretaro within walking distance of great places to visit and excellent restaurants. this is our first option when we visit Queretaro, please dont hesitate in staying here if you visit Queretaro for work or leisure.
I had booked a 5 night stay at this hotel. Upon arrival I was told that the gas wasn't working and that I would not be able to stay at the property, but that they would find me another place to stay. After waiting two hours they gave me two options outside of the city. Both of which were not possibilities for me because I specifically needed to stay in town. So I had to book another hotel and they told me they would refund my money right away. It has now been 8 days and they have not refunded my money, they have ignored my emails, and hung up on me when I called to inquire.
Excellent location, excellent value, 3 mins walk from zenea park and all of the historic centre is easily walkable. Opposite the door is little pedestrian street matamoros with several little restaurants. Hotel was small, pleasant, and staff very helpful. Room was good-sized, comfortable and quiet. We would have liked a fridge. We would choose this again. We arrived by bus, so I can't say about parking, but I recommend the excellent Primera Plus bus service and taxis (to and from the bus station) are so easy to come by and not expensive. This is a great little historic centre to spend a night or two just walking around.
Definitely one of the cleanest hotels we have ever visited in Mexico, or the US for that matter. A huge thank you to housekeeping. Property also has excellent maintenance & overall appearance is very inviting. Centro Historico location cannot be beat. The downside is the noise level. The small patio & reception area both serve as direct echo chambers that push noise directly into the rooms. If you are a light sleeper you will absolutely need ear plugs. The noise coming from groups visiting on the interior patio or in the reception area, did not end until 4:45AM on our 1st night & 3:00AM the 2nd night. Not sure what the hotel owners can do to lessen the noise levels, since the noise was not the result of loud partying guests. Only other complaint is the absolutely misleading online description of some rooms. We booked the "suite" room precisely because it is listed as being 646 square feet & we like large accommodations & are happy to pay for such. Unfortunately, the "suite" was a single room that measures 16' x 21' or 336 square feet, or almost 50% smaller than the misleading online description. Rooms also do not have AC if that is a requirement for you, but the ceiling fans were sufficient for our needs. Would have been more pleasant if the windows could have been left open for fresh air, but noise levels required their closure. Once again -- a large thank you for the best housekeeping we have experienced, but owners need to be HONEST in their room descriptions.
We stayed one night recently at the Quinta Allende. It is in a great location...very close to the Centro yet quiet. The room was very comfortable and well kept. WiFi worked well and the water was hot with good pressure. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Tho they don’t serve breakfast, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. I liked that there was coffee available in the lobby in the morning. We’d definitely stay here again in the future!
This place couldn’t have been better. First of all, I don’t think I have experienced a more quiet location in Mexico! Just a short walk and you are downtown of Centro Historico although there is an awesome row of restaurants in a pedestrian street found on the same block of the hotel.
The room was great with plentiful hot water and more than adequate water pressure. The lighting was great with more than enough light switches, and they all worked!
There was a ceiling fan with one speed unfortunately... high.
Breakfast is available for 80 pesos and the coffee was great.
The bed and pillows were extra firm which is how I like them.
The staff were all nice and professional although not a word of English is spoken here.
I am usually a harsh critic so when a review of mine is glowing it means the place was ideal!
This is a nice small hotel with spacious, clean, and modern rooms - if somewhat plain. It was nice to have a ceiling fan but there seemed to be only one speed of high. There is a nice little courtyard. Staff were very nice.
I was in a front room and it was very noisy from the restaurants and bars in the adjoining alley. If you want a quiet room I suggest you request a room in the rear section.
The location is great. It is a few blocks walk to get to the museums, restaurants, and sites you would want to see. The staff are friendly and speak some English. The room we had was large and very clean. The beds were comfortable. We had no complaints and would come back again.
I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. Good location, very friendly staff, super clean, ultra comfy bed, working wifi, and they were gracious about my 1:30 AM arrival! There’s not a lot of atmosphere, and I wish coffee had been available (in room or in lobby), but if you want a solid good choice without many bells and whistles, this is the place. Again, location, staff and the bed’s comfort made the stay great.
This was a wonderful little hotel in the historic centre and we wished we had stayed a couple fo nights to get to know the city better. It was very clean, with helpful stay and it is in an interesting area to walk around which felt just as safe in the late evening as it did the next morning. I would have expected that the breakfast would have been included in the price of the room, although it was clear in all communications that this was not the case.
What a little gem! Just 2 blocks from the busy centro but quiet and secluded; spacious rooms; friendly and helpful staff; very reasonably priced. Nice courtyard for coffee or visiting. We will stay here again when we return.
Quinta Allende is a great place to stay.It is a 5-10 minute walk from the Paza de Armas. The room is spacious & comfortable. As the rooms are at the back of the building, it is very quiet. The relationship between price & quality is great.
The hotel is a quite island in the city. The rooms are big enough, quite and the beds are good.
Very central with good access to a lot of restaurants.
Secure place - someone opens the hotel door only on request.
Also important: Internet access/speed is about 10-15 Mbps.
No air condition but seems to be good isolated. Windows can be opened/mosquito net built in.
I definitely will book this place again when I return next time.
This hotel in downtown is very calm and silent. Rooms are confortable, good beds, very clean. No Luxury but very good look. Reception 24/24. Good free WiFi internet connection.Breakfast is EXCELLENT , all made of fressh fruits/pastries. Opens at 8AM but possible before if you are here for business. No restaurant, but so many available in downtown, 2mn by feet.3 stars for service because it varies from charming to poor according the person in charge...
I love this hotel. Great location in the historic Centro. Plus, the rooms are quiet, spacious and extremely clean. The shower has great water pressure. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and professional. Even better? The prices are very reasonable. Overall, it's a wonderful hotel in the best location. I always stay at Quinta Allende whenever I'm in Queretaro.
Rooms were super clean, that is what we liked the most.Location is excellent, near downtown area yet in a quiet street. Air conditioning might need to be considered, and not having breakfast is not a mayor issue as there are plenty to choose from few blocks away.Size or rooms are large and size and quality of beds were above average. We will certainly use your hotel in our next trip to queretaro
Spent 3 nights in this hotel this past April and found our stay to be very relaxing. The rooms open to a small patio and are very clean and spacious. We tried the small hotel restaurant for breakfast the first day, went out the second and decided that the better breakfast was at the hotel on the third day. The front desk clerks were very helpful in procuring transportation to Guanajuato for us and they even volunteered to deliver some thank you notes we left for some friends. Its downtown and an easy walk to various historic churches, placitas, etc. Felt very safe walking in the area at night. Its a small unpretentious hotel that I would certainly stay in again.
