The locations
Old in need of some work done😎
Great location - sea view, close to cliffs pavilion. Large clean room.
Lift - small and claustrophobic. Out of service on return- difficult climb to top floors with elderly relatives. Paper thin walls- noisy neighbours. Basic breakfast.
Good location for Westcliff station and main attractions in Southend.
Nice breakfast
Value for money
Would suit couples or families with older children/teens.
Bedroom was good enough, could do with a bit better clean and a spruce up.
Hotel bar a let down.
Location. Assistance with parking.
Plug in bath did not work. Mugs were dirty. Only 1 packet of biscuits. Decor very dated. Hardly boutique. Was told no free upgrade as sold out but only saw 3 other guests. Window was blown so could not appreciate sea view.
The location was good
The hotel was obvious that needed a renovation. The facilities were not so clean.
Overall the whole hotel needs updating, there was a strong smell of damp when you walked in, the ceiling in our room was flaking and patchy and badly needed re-decorating.
There was never anyone on the bar so you have to go to reception to ask if there is anyone serving or if it's even open. It states on the bar menu that snacks etc are served from 5pm to close went to order a pizza at 20:05 only to be told that it closed at 20:00!! Not what it says on the paperwork!!
The breakfast is like stepping back 50 years only single tea-bags and coffee granules no choice of latte's or any other coffee.
Won't be staying there again.
Good location. Rooms a little tired (especially the bathrooms). But clean and comfortable bed
Parking was horrendous even though they give you a code to park in the immediate area
Rooms were spacious and had everything we needed, good location.

Great location
Excellent location, excellent staff, excellent food.
No car park and small lift.
It was an old Victorian building with lots of character
Although our room was very nice, there were some cleaning issues that I noticed in the bathroom and there was a cracked tile on the floor
got to breakfast near the end of service but was very good with plenty of options
