A nice Hotel which we have stayed at quite a few times before. Room was nice, and we enjoyed using the bar.Near Cliffs Pavillion.
All good
It was very clean, could see that they had new carpets and bathrooms. I went with my mum and family suit had two separate rooms which i didn’t expect and it was great
Beautiful view and friendly hosts. The housekeeping was tidying my room every day and the location near to the center. They upgraded my room for free and thank you for that. Value for money.
The building is old fashion and needs a renovation
Great view over the Thames Estuary from the room. Comfortable room. Excellent breakfast.
Unfortunately we found 3 shards of glass in the bed which cut my wifes finger. Staff did all they could to rectify the situation by changing the bedding but this really spoilt what would have otherwise been a nice stay. Also, there were no cups or glasses in the room on arrival. Poor housekeeping.
Staff were great. We had some really noisy neighbours during the early hours of the morning, we made a call to reception and it was dealt with immediately.
Thin walls and slightly dated decor, but for the price it is more than fair!
Checking experience was awful. The lady told me she didn’t have place for me and my daughter as they only had double beds and there was no mention of a child in her system. I told her not to tell me off for this because my booking clearly states 1 adult and 1 6 year old child. She continued her rudeness, accusing me of making a mistake.
The receptionist, the tiny room with one very small double beds and the breakfast. I was asked how my stay was in the morning by a different person at reception. He said he would inform the manager but the manager couldn’t even be bothered to make contact with me. We shan’t go back to Fawlty Towers.
Went with family to an event at this hotel. An experience I never want to have again.
The event room was very very cold we sat with jackets on. The food was awful, I’ve never seen Chicken Supreme like it, cabbage, chicken and crushed potatoes no sauce at all. The staff are unhelpful and rude. To save disappointment give this hotel a miss.
Lovely hotel, lovely location and lovely staff!
So pleasant, helpful, and extremely friendly 🤗
The only thing put us off was the on/off hot water for the jacuzzi bath (you need to let run for 10mins before using) even that only shower not bath😕 other than that all good 👍
Fabulous location and good value for money
The view from the entrance.
I was very disappointed with both the stay and how my concerns were handled afterward.
Issues were raised during the stay but I was later told they were “not documented,” which I am now expected to accept. Guests should not be penalised because staff failed to record concerns raised at the time.
The most serious issue involved dining with my child, who has a gluten allergy. Staff showed a lack of understanding and repeatedly pushed the standard menu despite this being raised. No meaningful alternatives or support were offered. When I asked about ordering food to the property, the response was dismissive and unhelpful, and I was told it would need to be eaten in the room. The hotel later claimed support was provided; this is factually incorrect.
The room itself did not meet expectations. There was constant loud banging until around 4am, with walls and floors vibrating, making sleep impossible. The beds were extremely hard, and the room was in poor condition, with holes in the walls and ripped wallpaper.
The post-stay response contained inaccuracies and dismissed my experience, offering a £15 “goodwill” refund which I do not accept. Overall, this stay caused significant stress and I would not return or recommend this property, particularly to families or those with dietary requirements.
Clean and comfortable
All good
Location
Not enough staff
The breakfast was amazing and well managed
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, while still staying professional in a busy environment.
The hotel is looking a little run down and tired, the pillows were not particularly comfortable.
the staff are expected to cover the reception and other area including the bar which leads to people becoming frustrated due to waiting times
Just spent a couple of days catching up with friends and family. The hotel was great, lovely sea views and close to town 🙂 All the staff were lovely, but I want to give an extra shout out to two particular outstanding staff.. Inna was such a lovely front desk and made us very welcome, and Jack is a standout barman 🙂 share the love people cos I'll be back 🙂
A great Hotel, which we have stayed at many times. Ideally located near Westcliff Pavilion. It has a nice bar. Very helpful in allocating us our chosen favourite room
