Relaxing, fun and would 100% go back in a heartbeat!
Pros:

Great spot, staff were unbelievable and so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The team on reception helped us book some great excursions, I cannot recommend highly enough! Thank you!

We had a wonderful stay and can highly recommend this hotel! The staff was incredibly attentive, kind, and always ready to help, which made us feel truly welcome from the first moment.

The facility itself is amazing — beautiful, very comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Our room was gorgeous and equipped with everything one could need. We especially appreciated the generous number of towels, which is a small detail but made a big difference for us.

The food was excellent, and we loved the option to have breakfast delivered to our room at no additional cost. Enjoying breakfast on our beautiful balcony was a real highlight of our stay.

While the hotel is on the pricier side, it is absolutely in line with Tulum prices, and you really get something special for your money. The beach area is very nice as well, with great service that made it easy to relax and enjoy our time.

Thank you again for this wonderful stay — we would definitely love to come back!

Cons:

If I had to find something… there was a humming sound all the time sonewhere close to our room like from a generator or something - it was a bit annoying in the beginning, but we got used to it and it didn‘t bother us.

Cons:

Bothersome the staff consistently asking for tips although already included in the bills.
Also breakfast, although already prepaid, staff was hungry for tips.

Schönes Hotel mit Luft nach oben bei den Zimmern.
Pros:

Sehr schönes kleines Boutiquehotel im jungle style. Direkte Strandlage mit schönen liegen. Frühstück war auch sehr gut ebenso das Lunch Menü. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Cons:

Die Zimmer könnten moderner sein ein TV in einem 5 Sterne hotel sollte auch hier Standard sein. Generell wirkt das Zimmer eher als hätte es die besten Tage hinter sich. Auch ein wenig schade ist das man beim Frühstück nur 1 Menü wählen kann und wenn man außerhalb des Menüs was haben will muss man extra zahlen was bei dem hohen zimmer preis inklusive sein.

Third stay here, still my favourite place in Tulum
Pros:

This was our third time at Ma’xanab. I’m happy to say that it still delivers excellent service, ultra friendly staff, delicious food and one of the best private beach spots in Tulum. The front desk basically booked my entire itinerary for bars and restaurants at only the best places. I will be returning for the 4th time soon.

Beautiful hotel in perfect location! The most delicious food!
Pros:

Beautiful small hotel on the most stunning beach, small pool but the best part was that its temperature was perfectly regulated and cool so you’re able to cool down in it from the heat and humidity! (as other Tulum hotel pools are just too warm and so your not able to cool down!) The most delicious food, fish tacos were absolutely divine! Breakfast was perfect! Reception staff were super kind!

Cons:

I had booked the cheaper garden view room and when I arrived was shocked to see it was facing the reception area and entrance to the hotel, no privacy and not nice at all! So I upgraded to a beautiful larger room with small private balcony and plunge pool! More private although rather dark. The lighting was not so good in the dressing room area but loads of space. The ceiling fan was super noisy and creaked like someone was outside hammering! My main concern was the lack of help from the staff when I was on the beach and an insane homeless guy started kicking my sun bed and growling at me.. the waiters were not around to help and eventually came and told me not to worry the guy was ill.. I understand that it is off-season and very quiet only another 3, 4 people on the beach with me so all very relaxed, but I found the lack of attention and feeling of safety inadequate for a hotel of this quality especially travelling alone as a woman!
