Comfy bed, beautiful grounds with lake view lovely little pool. Decent parking
Nothing really, about 30 mins walk to bowness so we walked down and taxied back for less that £4 on the days we went
I loved how dog friendly it was. I've never taken my dog to a hotel so I was a bit apprehensive, but he was fine. My husband and I loved the room. I really enjoyed using the pool. Breakfast was nice and our Afternoon Tea on the day we arrived was delicious.
The bed was a good size but the mattress was too firm for our old bones.
The building and scenery were beautiful and free parking on site
The rooms were dated, beds felt like the mattress was made of straw. The rooms were also very loud, we could hear people in the rooms next to us and above us all night & then the bins were being moved and emptied at 7am. Dogs are £20 per night which is extremely overpriced considering the provisions they provide are a plastic dog bed, which if you own a dog they probably have their own bed. Considering we were charged for having a dog, the irony was that there was a dirty nappy disposed of in their car park. Breakfast was very basic and of minimal nutritional value, however the building itself is beautiful and so is the scenery.
Staff were friendly, services like breakfast was very nice and the room including location and views was amazing
Excellent
Nil
A beautiful building in gorgeous grounds. I liked how private we felt in the annex
When we went for our evening meal the bar/restaurant area smelt like the oil needed changing in the fryer
Clean and tidy
We only stayed one night so not able to give a fair comment
Beautiful hotel overlooking Lake Windemere. The garden has stunning views
No hot water and told that the water does not get hot
Room was comfortable and clean
The food was awful and I couldn't eat the main meal.
Staff were really helpful and kind. Location was really good, easily reached other interests. Food was good and plenty.
Less barking dogs!
Truly dog friendly. Lovely staff, and Pauline and Amy on reception were particularly welcoming and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. Substantial breakfast and a good evening menu.
Beautiful location, breakfast was nice, hotel was clean and the staff were lovely. We will book again for sure.
It felt like the upstairs room, who had a dog, were in ours there can't be any sound proofing in-between floors... When we were trying to settle down at night the dog was barking and it woke us up at 6:05 the following morning so we didn't get the comfortable lie in we wanted. That's our only real complaint....... The only other is the lights outside at night are so bright that you can't see the sky if you like stargazing like us.
Nice large room - Room 10 - plenty room for us and dog’s bed. Easy access to outside for dog and loads of safe, outdoor space for dog
Staff brilliant, helpful, especially carrying all our doggy stuff.
Swimming pool, what a bonus!
Afternoon lounge service unexpected and good
The whole hotel was warm both in atmosphere and physically
No safe in room for valuables
Restaurant poor, serves freezer food microwaved. Breakfast adequate, but fruit bowl lacked variety
Went for my boyfriend’s birthday which couldn’t have gone more perfect. The room was decorated and staff were very friendly and the hotel room was clean and had an amazing view which was great for the price value
Nothing.
Exactly what we needed for a stopover in Windermere
Nothing
