nice decor

and tv
i could feel the springs in the bed
the ligths were odd - the bedside big lights were linked to the overhead light and the little bedside lights were not bright enough - i used the little desk lamp
i needed a sewing kit and you did not have any
Extremely convenient location: a level walk just across the road from Exeter Central train station. A few hundred yards from the HighStreet.
Some of the stair carpet needs replacing but this didn’t detract from our visit.
I really enjoyed my stay in the Hotel Rougemont. The building is lovely, and my room was comfortable, quiet, and well-appointed. The value was great for a downtown hotel, and I could easily have stayed here longer.
Location
Lifts out of service -
Bathroom - shower cubicle had vomit remnants over tiles - clearly not cleaned properly
Breakfast - luke warm water for tea, no milk jugs, very poor value continental breakfast
Clean and comfortable.
Location is great
The parking isn’t just for guest so had to find parking elsewhere
All of the staff were very professional and friendly, rooms were great and loved the bar.
Nothing here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Staff
No lift, 2 x flights of stairs and no discount etc fir the inconvience
The hotel was larger and grander than expected. The room was perfect - a decent size, with a good sized TV, comfortable beds, tea and coffee, but no bottles of water. Bathroom was clean with a decent shower.
Location was great - right opposite Exeter Central Station and just a few minutes walk to the centre and the Phoenix music venue - which is where we went.
The fact that you had to pay £12.50 to park at the hotel. A bit of a rip off and their way to claw back on the good hotel prices that attract you in the first place ? I get we were in Central Exeter and by a main station, but the hotel should look after the loyalty of their guests.
Breakfast arrangements - On Booking.com, the same room for 2 with Breakfast was £51 more. At the hotel when checking in, we were offered Breakfast at £16 per person - so a whopping £19 cheaper. We politely declined both options and went to a lovely place about 1 minute from the hotel, on the right as you walk into town - far better value.
The lift has been out of action for well over a month - We were on the 2nd floor and only had over-night bags, so not really a problem for us, but for older guests, or for those with large luggage, it is totally unacceptable for the lift to have been out of action for so long. Get it fixed asap (you've had at least 6 weeks so far), or provide a Bell Boy to assist with luggage.
Very clean comfy and good price staff were very accommodating and really helpful
Lifts were broken limited selection of drinks after bar shut so not what residents expect
