Absolutely nothing
Didn't get given the room we booked. Was told this was because of booking it through booking.com. told me I had to leave my car keys with them once I parked my car up in case they "need to move my car"
Walked into the room and it absolutely stank of cigarette smoke (quite funny after they had me signing a form to say I wouldn't smoke in the room) the bedding absolutely stank, even the bottles of water on the desk stank and felt sticky. Could feel the stickiness from smoking around the room. Bathroom was grimmy.
He said he had been trying to air the room out all day so knew full well how bad it stunk. Then sprayed room with "industrial air freshener" didnt even mask the smell for 5 mins. Walked out and booked somewhere else.
After saying no to a refund at first they did then agree to refund which i have received however im still waiting on refund for parking fee as I didnt even park my car which apparently they have refunded but 2 weeks on im still waiting for it.
We liked how close it was to the town centre, a very short walk, lovely staff I didn’t get the guys name but he showed us everything and explained everything very well
The bathroom had a very funny smell to it which was quite unsettling, it was a bit dirty if I’m honest, beds had stains on the sheets, under the beds was very dirty like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time and the beds were really small and uncomfortable
We loved it all
Nothing
The manager was the perfect host. Went out of his way to show me all the facilities. Exceptional value the money. Great choice of food
Having to leave in the morning
Lovely property staff very friendly very clean brilliant for its price
Rooms were a little small but still clean and cosy. One thing I would change is the toilet roll holders as our toilet paper got stuck in the dispenser
Late night food availability
Nothing
Very friendly and good
Everything
It don't have tea and coffee the room all the hotel I have bee in have tea and coffee
The owner was amazing and couldnt do anything more to assist us on our stay. The hotel literally has everything inside that you need, a bar an american style cafe with burgers, hotdogs etc.. Aswell as breakfasts. So you could in theory just go here and not leave until its time to checkout and be reletively happy. Way more than most places have.
1. The american cafe in the back was cool looking and had most the popular arcade machines inside (could do with a 2p machine though rather than a 10p one lol).
2. The burgers were out of this world, so good and deffo a reason to go back. The curly fries also somehow the best i ever had too..
3. Stuff for kids, we didnt take our kids (they aduls now anyway) but with games and stuff in the hotel you could easily camp there with the kids for the evening and they would have a blast.
4. The rooms were super clean and tidy and have all the basic functions you need. Your not coming here for your room anyway. The mint imperials in the room were icing on the preverbial cake.
5. buttons all over the place to call the owner when you need assistance which is nice, so your not stood around waiting for ages.
6. the owner couldnt do enough for us (other than a point ill get to in the didnt like section). Always asking how the room is and how we could make future stays better etc..
7. This may be a negative for some but the coffee machine rather than coffee facilities may get people saying the owner is cheap or whatever as we have to pay for them, but the coffee supplies you usually get in rooms with rotting kettles is not a better alternative. The breew facilities in most room i have been in has been poor so appreciate a bean to cup machine in the hotel instead even if you have to pay for it. Though it is the same coffee as weatherspoons and no free refills sadly lol.
I want to stress this is me just pointing these out and they didnt ruin the stay for me.
1. The matress was very firm and bed rickity so i woke up several times through the night when my wife turned over and bones were a bit sore in the morning. I visit Blackpool a lot and this is probably the main reason i wouldnt go back sadly.
2. The price for soft drinks, i cannot stress this enough that this realy annoyed me at the time but didnt ruin my stay as i can just get elsewhere but I ordered a whisky and coke (dont judge me whisky lovers). The whisky was just over £3 a shot which is fair considering its blackpool. But I was also charged £2.90 for a 220ml glass bottle of diet coke to go in the drink. I complained and was told it was out of the hands of the owner but like did he HAVE to use those tiny bottles? You get 330ml in a can and i'm sure he could sell them for a £1 like everywhere else. It stung more as i got 2 whiskys and coke as wife wanted one aswell. I noticed there was no price on his insenly long price list for soft drinks which should have been a sign to be fair.
3. A minor point which is a meh point for me, we ordered the red stag whisky on which his price list stated was £2.70 a shot yet got charged i believe £3.30. Its 60p and we got 2 so not the end of the world but those lists need updating.
4. Paid another £3 deposit at checkin. From what i can gather this is for linen? But why not simply include this in the price? It was unexpected and wasnt mentioned in the booking process. I don't mind the extra £3 to be honest was just surpsied to be asked for it and i feel it could be more obvious this has to be paid.
Location was perfect for me. Staff were helpful and pleasant
