Lovely hotel. We stayed in the Langtry and had breakfast in the Derby. Both buildings are impressive when you go into them - grand but light and with a lovely feel. The Langtry is fascinating with its displays of memorabilia related to Lily Langtry. We stayed in the Sarah Bernhardt room which was spacious, attractive and had a super king sized comfortable bed.
The staff we met over in the Derby were friendly and efficient. Parking was easy and free.
We were quite stressed when we arrived but the place had a very calming effect. I would definitely stay here again.
My gripes are minor and certainly wouldn't affect me booking again and I rarely stay in the same place twice. The adjoining door between rooms 5 (Bernhardt) and 4 let in a bit too much noise. The ensuite is tight for space so larger people might need a different room. Breakfast was fine for the money but if it was more expensive you'd see better quality ingredients - there's a buffet with the usual array and cooked breakfasts are made to order which is a good sign.
Good area, 15 min walk to beach or a couple of mins to the bus stop. The hotel building and communal areas were very nice, lots of Langtry memorabilia. Coded entry was good, no fishing for keys in the bottom of your bag. Parking was good.
Lovely big bed, and good toilet paper!!
The sister hotel, The Derby, was immaculate...lovely staff and breakfast there was ok.
The room was not very clean, broken radiator cover, cardboard covering small broken window, handle missing from draws, big stain on carpet and what we thought was going to be a cupboard was actually the bathroom..about 2 sq ft to move in!!
Not staffed so didn't have the friendly welcome of The Derby..I am sure it has a completely different vibe in the summer.
The location was excellent. The hotel was very quiet and in a lovely residential area. The hotel itself was very comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee and bottled water. The Derby Hotel across the road where breakfast was served, was very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and very enjoyable. We will certainly return in the future.

Very comfortable, lovely rooms and decor. Breakfast was really good.
Having to go across the road for breakfast especially as the weather wasn't good.
What a fantastic experience. The house is handily located for reaching either Boscombe or Bournemouth, with plenty of parking on site or nearby. The house is superbly decorated with many mementoes of the life of Lillie Langtry and her contemporaries. There are several lounges to relax in if the weather is not conducive to venturing out!! And the breakfasts were stunning value.
Was booked into one room but unfortunately hot water was not working so was moved to a different room, which exceeded or expectations
The room was spacious but I did request a ground or first floor room as my partner has mobility issues. Our room was on the second floor and the stairs were a problem for him.
We booked a room with a spa bath. There was a message saying that they were waiting for a part but the bath could be filled using the shower. We did this but the spa wouldn't work. There were no instructions, no hand rails which would have been useful for getting in and out of such a high bath.
We did not like having to cross the road to the adjacent hotel for breakfast (mobility issues again). Fortunately the weather was fine and the breakfast and staff were excellent.
The history, the room was delightfully furnished
Cleanliness and broken furniture and facilities
The location and the house itself ..history and the out of hours service
When we arrived in our room ,carpet is a little bit dirty .seems like it hasn’t been hovered
It was easy to find
It was fine
Super comfortable bed!
Felt a bit empty at times especially with no staff (it’s all self-check in and out , which is useful and efficient but does render it with a slightly soulless feel)
The room was in disrepair, cracked bathroom sink, light switch not attached to the wall, bathroom tiles and bath heavy stained , no heating only a electric heater bed cove soiled
The room was not value for money
