The location was fabulous. Short walk from the railway station. Ideally situated to walk into the walled city via Marygate, The Museum Gardens which were beautiful, along the river or down the road which took you straight to the magnificent York Minister.
We stayed for three nights bed and breakfast. The dining rooms were bright, airy, the choice of breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt etc hot food freshly cooked, generous and the waitress very nice .
We didn't use all the facilities, but saw it had a nice garden and spa for use. Even read in the brochure you could have BBQs there. Got some useful advice of how to get to places following the map provided
Would recommend to our friends and family if visiting York and would revisit
Just a couple of things missing which would of enhanced our stay further ..
a mini fridge in the room to keep water and fresh milk cold
TV didn't appear to connect to the Internet so after a long day sight seeing would of been nice to watch something other than mainstream TV
10 minute walk from the station. 10 to 15 minute walk from many of the city’s attractions but in a quiet area. Friendly welcoming hosts and the ability to leave our luggage both before checking in and after checking out made our trip even nicer.
Lovely friendly staff .The rooms were lovely and clean with tea/coffee making facilities and a maid service each day. The breakfast was value for money and had an excellent choice. The location was perfect for our group and was just a 7-10 minute walk from the York Minster. Pubs and restaurants located within a 5 minute walk of the hotel.
The staff were friendly and accommodating. The bed, pillows, and bedding were fantastic. We had a wonderful night's sleep. The bathroom was clean, modern, and spacious. I really enjoyed the location of the shower controls. It was outside of the water area so you could get the temperature just right before getting in. We stayed on the top floor and had two lovely skylight windows. The train runs just across the street, but it was not a bother. I believe it does not run between 11:30pm and 6:30am. The hotel does not have a lift, so stairs are a must. We had a lovely stay and would return again if visiting York.
Bed was very comfy. Room had good space and staff seemed friendly when we arrived.
It says multiple times on here AND their website that the hot tub is included for free. In fact it was the reason why we booked. I even had asked before our arrival and payment wasn’t mentioned. When we arrived they were asking for £20 per person. Really really upsetting and almost ruined our stay
Great location, friendly staff, very clean and lovely room. We both enjoyed the cooked breakfast.

Great breakfast, Great location, very friendly staff, more than comfortable bed. Etc etc. Couldn't fault anything 👌
Great location, lovely comfortable bed
We could hear people walking overhead as the floors are old and a bit creaky.( Our room was in the basement) Not a massive problem but as a light sleeper I could hear it in the earlymorning
We had the most lovely new years break! There’s good parking, the staff are amazing and we immediately got an upgraded room on arrival. We did two hot yoga classes, both were fabulous and we so enjoyed our extra big room with a bath. The beds are incredibly comfortable, didn’t want to get up! We did the hot tub one night as well and that was loads of fun! The hotel is a couple minutes walk from the city and our views were amazing. Would def return in the future!
Nice location lovely staff breakfast excellent - have stayed here a few times and will book again
Nothing
This place is lovely and clean really nicely decorated and fixture and fittings top notch the bed and pillows were so comfy. We stayed bed and breakfast and the breakfast was great we had full English very tasty! There was quite a few things to choose from the menu. There is parking on site at an extra cost. I suggest you get there early to get a decent parking space we arrived late, however the owner of the property did manage to squeeze us in. It's literally a 10-minute walk into town and the York minster. So it's in a great location. This place gets five stars from us ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
