Will never come back here again
Pros:

The location is the best for sure, 10mins walk to Kiyomizudera and right in the heart on Ninenzaka.

The architecture and decorative are top notch.

Cons:

During my stay i only have one big problem with the staff, Mrs Yuki from the breakfast room.

You can ask any staff on how I treat others from the security guard, bellboy, restaurant staff and reception. I always greet them with a big smile and chit chat.

However the experience i had with Mrs Yuki was terrible and i have been to several 5stars hotel in Japan and never been this disrespected before.

I have meet her twice during first day and second day at the breakfast room.

The problem was the seat are full and we have to wait, i understand the amount of seat are not match with room for guest which i understand, but the way she treat me with a moody face and bad temper was the thing i can not accept, she even hit me with her elbow when she was serving to my wife.

The way she reacted is too amateur and unprofessional at all. You can just apologize to me and ask me nicely to wait with a smile and i would understand that.

Its made my experience at Seiryu from top to bottom real quick, at first i was booked park Hyatt but i got the date wrong and when i try to correct it the room was full so i choose Seiryu instead which i believe it could on the same level. There wont be next time for me at seiryu again.

And for Mrs Yuki i would i like to suggest that maybe it’s too old for her to work since she can’t control her emotions and behavior towards hotel guests. Maybe she should just quit and go and raise her grandchildren or maybe they don’t like her as well so she still has to work?

Do something Seiryu. I will make sure to let my friends, family, and business partners know about this and try to avoid to stay here as best as i can
And i ll review this to as much source as possible too.

Gorgeous hotel in a fabulous location in Kyoto!
Pros:

Awesome location with a beautiful room and a delicious breakfast. Loved the guest lounge with free food and drinks. Free Geisha show in the lounge was also a treat!

Cons:

My only complaint is that we could not use the private hot tubs without paying an additional fee.

素晴らしい京都の思い出を作ることができ、親孝行できました。
Pros:

両親の金婚式のお祝いで2日間、子供達5人で伺いましたが、お部屋、サービス、窓からのロケーション全て想像以上で素晴らしかったです。
ラウンジからの八坂の塔は絶景でしたし、ちょうどチェックインの日は舞妓さんの舞があり初めて拝見させていただきました。
お部屋もリビング付き、バルコニー付きのお部屋で、外に出るのが勿体無いぐらいでしたが、行きたい場車がたくさんあった為、部屋でゆっくり過ごすことができなかったのが、心残りです。
次回、京都に遊びにくる際も、ぜひ利用させていただきたいです。

Cons:

お部屋のコーヒーマシンに前回利用されたコーヒーの汚れが付着しておりました。

夜中の寝室の天井の音が気になり熟睡することができませんでした。
しかしお部屋があまりにも素晴らしかった為、変更してもらうより、夜中だけ我慢して滞在させていただきました。

A stunning and comfortable haven with exceptional service.
Pros:

It had a really relaxed feel in a hectic place. The service was exceptional - our tour/guide that we had had booked through Get Your Guide (activity provider being Best Trip to Kyoto) did not turn up and didn’t communicate with us. We felt very badly let down, but the hotel reception/concierge managed to book an alternative within an hour - who was frankly much better than the Get Your Guide options we had used in Tokyo. They saved the day for us! The lounge and service is generally excellent and the hotel is a haven after a busy day. The rooftop bar is also gorgeous with stunning views. I wouldn’t hesitate to return or recommend the property - thank you to all the team there.

Cons:

Nothing really. The food is perhaps not as diverse for western tastes but the quality is excellent.

A high quality haven in a hectic destination!
Pros:

Everything - the hotel is a haven after a hectic day. The service is exceptional. Our tour guide/driver booked via Get Your Guide (provider being Best Trip to Kyoto) did not turn up as scheduled or communicate with us, so we were badly let down. The reception team/concierge organised a replacement for within an hour despite it being a bank holiday, who was frankly much better than the Get Your Guide options we had taken in Tokyo. They salvaged our day and stay in Kyoto. We cannot fault the hotel and its high spec, comfortable, with great quality food and exceptional service. Thank you!

The food diversity may not suit all western tastes but it is delicious!

Outstanding hotel, location, customer service and staff with an excellent buffet and views!
Pros:

The room was comfortable and large with big windows, well equipped. Lots of light, roof top and pagoda views, modern and serene room. The bathroom is big, great hot water pressure, wonderful amenities constantly replenished. Loved the wood tooth brushes, combs, and hair brushes. Very sweet to send up to the room nonalcoholic Chardonnay for a birthday—was delicious.

Cons:

Guests should be told to wear the indoor slippers provided by the hotel because the carpets have dirt stains. The third sofa bed was smaller than expected. Non dairy milk or creamer should be provided for the coffee machine.

this location is ideal, the staff is so friendly and the free lounge and rooms were stunning!

I loved the library dining room and the breakfast was yummy - we loved the traditional offerings - they were delicious
