Lukkesystemet i badekaret var ikke tett, så vannet rant sakte ut.
Great location but time for a good update of structure and some carpets inside now
Substandard exterior woodwork and some internal work needed now
Location & beautiful decor
The big sash window would not stay open on it’s own.
No shower cap in the cardboard shower cap box ?
The bath (which I was extremely grateful for) had a hair in it. Not mine.
Next door room (or a roofer upstairs) did not close a door, so it banged all night and kept me awake. It was close to the wall on which my bed headboard was against; so there was no escaping the noise.
A guest slammed the front door to the hotel at 10pm, woke me up and scarred the Bejesus out of me. It was LOUD.
Quasi Indian duff duff music playing in the breakfast room at 8.30am. The average age of the guests in the dining room was 70 years of ago. I was the youngest at 57. What ever possessed the staff to think the music was ok is beyond me. Rye is a quintessential old English town. Clair du lune not disco music.
Everything....location comfort, breakfast, staff.
Nothing, it was perfect for our short stay in Rye .
Lovely hotel
The shower was a bit crap
Perfect location.
Very comfortable room with good facilities.
Excellent staff
Couldn’t find tv remote, but all ok to operate manually if I needed it.
It’s a nice old hotel, some cracks in the walls but otherwise well kept. Clean place.
Staff are nice and friendly.
They have a happy hour with complimentary cheese and biscuits between 6-7pm which we missed as we had booked dinner out.
They give you a 10% discount off food and drink at The George which is a few steps away which is nice of them.
Breakfast is nice, mix of cooked breakfasts, cereal, porridge , fruits etc.
Bathroom was clean but water pressure was low due to the age of the hotel plumbing.
Our room was nice and we had a nice view.
TV in room, kettle and tea/coffee and biscuits.
The high charge of parking, they have their own car park and it is £10 for 24hrs but it was only 20hours when we paid for it, not sure why. There is cheaper parking elsewhere close by which we only found out the next day.
The hotel was a little quirky. In some places it needed a good clean but there are renovations going on so can excuse that.
It just looked a little tired in places but again there are renovations going on.
It was perfect for our needs.
Nothing to dislike
The location was very good a parking directly behind the hotel was a great bonus. Ok you have to pay £10.00 on Ringo to park but the convenience of not having to find somewhere in town is well worth it. Breakfast was very good considering the price paid for the room
The bar was limited in choice but several decent pubs in close proximity if you want a nightcap
Perfect location
The decoration is tired. The carpet on the stairs, cracks and peeling wallpaper could do with a bit of attention
Location is great, outside of hotel is shabby so on arrival my heart sank. Inside was no better, the stair carpet to our room in the loft was threadbare (literally) walls were cracked and paintwork chipped. Our room was a good size, dusty, floor uncleaned we believe and asked for it to be hoovered, windows had mould and mushroom type things growing on the outside. Bed was comfortable, bathroom clean and good shower. Breakfast good, though presentation could be better.
Threadbare carpets, cracked walls, not overly clean, shabby looking, very tired hotel and despite many reviews saying the same nothing seems to be improving. definitely not worthy of the cost.
Location and views beautiful. Breakfast was good in a quiet room. Bedroom was quiet and comfortable.
Bathroom was very tired. Clean though.
Decor needs overhall
Absolutely loved our stay at The Lookout. Abbie & Tarek were immensely helpful and wonderful people, always there to help out with any issues/ queries. The rooms were clean, spacious and quite comfortable. The best part was the unobstructed view from the room which was breathtaking.
Nothing as such that I could point out to be honest. If I have to be really picky, perhaps the stairs to the top floor could do with a slight work as they are really narrow and difficult to maneuver if someone is slightly aged.
The location is great for visiting Rye
The claim 24 hours parking for £10 isn’t the case, it’s until 1pm the next day. So checking in late in the day meant we only got 18 hours and the hotel blaming their parking agent.
Also the breakfast is very limiting and low quality - a small thing but who serves half a slice of black pudding?!?
