Came into Tahoe a day early because of a storm, and needed to make a last min booking here for me and my kid. It was an excellent value (midweek). This is basically a higher end motel, and it's close enough to the gondola / village that you can walk (perhaps a bit painful in skis). The room was very clean and I liked the decor. They hooked us up with a glass of wine for me and a soda for my kid when we arrived. The lobby is cozy and welcoming.
Both me and my son didn't like the bed. There was a thick mattress topper on it that made it super hot.
Everything was excellent! the room was beautiful and cozy, location is great, just 10min walk to a the gondola and a few minutes from the lake with restaurants and coffee shops a few mins walk away, the staff was incredible, so friendly and caring! Hot tub was lovely and the best after a long day of skiing. Loved everything about my stay!!
The only thing I can think of is that I wish there was a kettle in the room. there is a kettle in the lobby and a coffee machine in the room that can be used to make hot water, but its a little onerous for things like a hot water bottle.

We had a wonderful family stay at the Station House Inn in South Lake Tahoe. Even though it was high season and the hotel was fully booked, the experience was absolutely incredible.
From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. Being received with coffee, hot chocolate, and even a glass of wine sets the tone immediately — you understand that the soul of the place is truly about hospitality and connection.
The staff is exceptionally attentive, warm, and thoughtful. Despite the busy season, they made us feel seen and cared for at every moment.
We leave with nothing but beautiful memories from our time there as a family. It was a very special stay, and we would happily return.
The fire side room was available in the day and evening. They provided a complimentary beverage of wine, beer, coffee or other for each guest (per night?) It was walking distance to Lake Tahoe and the staff person on duty was very helpful and friendly with great information about local resturants and places to see. The rooms were updated in the past few years and felt cozy yet modern.
The Hot tubs were not available due to limited staff and no maintenance service that night, due to no maintenance staff on site (owner lived over 100 miles away).

The staff were awesome. The lodge was stacked with board games and they had movie night with fresh made popcorn 🍿 I will be returning for another stay.

Some things didn’t work in my room, such as the TV. Pool area is neglected during low season.
Easy check in, Nice lodge w a good continental breakfast and a complimentary beverage at check in. Fire pit w outdoor games. Good restaurant on site. Great value. Excellent location.
I wouldn’t call the beds comfortable as some have Mattress was pretty hard, and seemed to have a dip in it. Maybe time to upgrade mattresses.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The lobby area was very welcoming. The comp drinks at check in were awesome. The rooms were average size. However , that shower was awesome!!!!!! It was big and the water pressure was perfect.
The only issues I had with my room was the lighting. The lighting was very dim. The room needed more brighter lamps.
