The Code Hotel

Everything was great. A few small issues but the team quickly and professionally took care of it!

The room was filthy when we arrived. There were hairs on the baseboards and in the shower. They appeared to be pubic hairs or beard hairs—I honestly couldn't tell—but regardless of what they were, they should never have been left in a room that was supposed to be cleaned before guests arrived. The floors were so dirty that my brand-new white slippers turned completely brown after walking around the room, and there was even blood on one of the bed sheets. I took photos documenting all of these issues. When I reported the cleanliness issues, I was offered a complimentary cleaning. However, no one ever came to clean the room. I was later told that housekeeping had knocked on the door, but no one answered. That simply did not happen. I have a 4-pound Yorkshire Terrier with me, and the bedroom was right next to the entry door. If anyone had knocked, my dog would have barked and alerted us. More importantly, the room should have been cleaned properly before we ever checked in. Offering to clean it after we had already unpacked was not an acceptable solution. Because there was blood on one of the bed sheets, maintenance was sent to replace it. The employee was unable to communicate with me verbally, so we had to use a translation app on his phone. After I stepped into the hallway, I Intentionally closed my room door because my 4-pound Yorkshire Terrier was inside, and I didn't want my dog to get out. When I turned around, the employee had opened my room door completely and was standing in the doorway. I immediately asked him to close the door because I had closed it for a reason, but due to the language barrier, he did not appear to understand what I was saying. The situation made me very uncomfortable and could have resulted in my dog escaping. The noise was unbearable. We stayed in a two-bedroom, two-bathroom suite, and there was constant traffic noise from South Lamar as well as people running and stomping around in the room above us throughout our stay.

Nothing at all

The only negative would be the charge for parking, however I do understand its not fully under their control!

If I had to say something it would be that the water is not really that hot and when people are walking above you it sounds as if they are walking in your room. If you have a pet this might be a small problem.

The bed faced a wall full of LED clocks and appliances. So it was a bit like sleeping in a kitchen. Also, you couldn't watch the TV from the bed, a bit unusual for a hotel. The vibe at this property is just a little off. There a bit of a ghost town/under construction feel. The bar area, while aesthetic, didn't appear to be in service (no tap handles on the bar). I think it would be good for business trips or festival travelers -- not so much for a romantic getaway.

In the room we were in you could hear the traffic all night long. They provided ear plugs but I couldn’t sleep with them in.
