Rainey Street can be extremely loud and lively, particularly on weekends. It’s worth being aware that the noise from the surrounding bars and nightlife can continue late into the night

Parking was a bit challenging

All good. Elevators were a long wait at times.

They charged my card 250$ out of nowhere several times, to the point that I had to keep it locked during my stay.

They didn't ask for my card at checkin and instead just charged me 250$ a few days into my stay without my ever being present or authorizing the charge. I called them to ask what this charge was, they said it's the security deposit -- but shouldn't you need my authorization and presence to charge my card? It was so unprofessional and I've never seen a hotel take a deposit like this instead of asking for a card for incidentals at checkin.

I had two bookings back to back and I asked Sandra at reception to make sure not to charge me twice as they were already holding the 250$ from the first time, then she accidentally charged me another 250$ on the spot. She did refund the second 250$ but it made me incredibly uncomfortable for them to playing around with my card like that.

As well, they didn't release the hold when they said they would. Sandra claimed she released it, despite my showing her on my banking app how it was still a pending charge. Even when I did a three-way call with her and my bank to tell her she needed to release the charge, she was dismissive and rude to the point my bank's agent commented on how rude she was.

The staff was just so unprofessional, it felt like none of them had worked or run a hotel before with how badly simple things like taking a deposit were done. Every small thing with them turned into a giant hassle requiring 18 different conversations. Finally it had to be escalated to the general manager, and then to finance to get them to release this hold on my card they had for over a month.

The entrance was difficult to find

It was like pulling teeth to get them to do even the simplest request and they were extremely stingy with amenities, which is wild when the room is 300-400$/night. The review from another guest saying she had to use her own wet wipes bc the hotel didn't give them toilet paper is accurate.

I called to ask for fresh towels and they said 'we're asking guests to rewash their towels themselves' ... for 400$/night are you kidding me? Then I asked for more paper towels or laundry pods and they don't want to give them to you, but they do want you to use up your 3 laundry pods to do the hotels laundry. They claim it's because they only give a 'starter pack', but even the starter pack only had 1/8th of a paper towel roll clearly left over from a previous guest.

Simple housekeeping requests like more toilet paper or trash bags take 3-4 phone calls over several hours. I asked for 4 rolls of tp since it's so annoying to get them to come, and reception said 'I'll see how much they'll give you'. How about you give me the number I request?

It was incredibly frustrating to be arguing about a 50 cent paper towel roll in a room at that price point, makes every feel cheap and stingy.

This could be a beautiful property but the total lack of any sense of hospitality and even generosity from the staff is surreal. Why be so cheap and petty with guests in what you're trying to present as an effortless, relaxed, convenient stay? Meanwhile the tiniest request was like pulling teeth.
