Kitchen has good equipment for cooking
It was like pulling teeth to get them to do even the simplest request and they were extremely stingy with amenities, which is wild when the room is 300-400$/night. The review from another guest saying she had to use her own wet wipes bc the hotel didn't give them toilet paper is accurate.
I called to ask for fresh towels and they said 'we're asking guests to rewash their towels themselves' ... for 400$/night are you kidding me? Then I asked for more paper towels or laundry pods and they don't want to give them to you, but they do want you to use up your 3 laundry pods to do the hotels laundry. They claim it's because they only give a 'starter pack', but even the starter pack only had 1/8th of a paper towel roll clearly left over from a previous guest.
Simple housekeeping requests like more toilet paper or trash bags take 3-4 phone calls over several hours. I asked for 4 rolls of tp since it's so annoying to get them to come, and reception said 'I'll see how much they'll give you'. How about you give me the number I request?
It was incredibly frustrating to be arguing about a 50 cent paper towel roll in a room at that price point, makes every feel cheap and stingy.
This could be a beautiful property but the total lack of any sense of hospitality and even generosity from the staff is surreal. Why be so cheap and petty with guests in what you're trying to present as an effortless, relaxed, convenient stay? Meanwhile the tiniest request was like pulling teeth.
The parking garage
We loved it!!! My husband, our golden retriever, and I went and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The apartment was gorgeous! Everything was new, spotless, and they took care of even the smallest details! All the facilities are spectacular: the co-working area, the pool area, the café downstairs in the lobby—everything was amazing! We will definitely be back someday!
We loved every thing!
The kitchen is nice and you can borrow bikes
400$/night and they gave me a room above 2 construction sites! Both the front desk and the general manager refused to move me when I requested multiple times.
The gym is under renovation so you hear that all day and a bar under my window spent the entire time jackhammering their concrete patio to break it up.
The extremely loud music on Rainey goes until 2am every night, it's far beyond what the noise machine and earplugs they give you can cover. Then after you finally fall asleep the construction noise wakes you up in the morning. Extremely poor response from the hotel who thinks hearing non stop construction noise is appropriate for a 'luxury' stay.
Edit: the property is claiming it gave me a "full refund" because of the issues encountered. This is a complete lie. The GM after I contacted her and detailed the multiple service failures I experienced refunded one week of my stay (2300$) on a total booking of over 15,000$. More dishonesty from this property.
My hotel stay was absolutely amazing! The front desk staff was super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The building itself has everything you need and even more. Plus, you’re right on Rainey Street, which is packed with activities, food, drinks, and attractions. It’s the perfect spot!
Not a thing.
The maintenance guy Tommy was nice and helpful
Hotel staff came into my room multiple times despite having my do not disturb sign on. Once I had requested amenities and asked them to leave them at the door if I didn't answer as I had a business call. I looked up and two cleaning ladies were standing in the middle of my room. I was in a huge 2 bedroom and they could have left it at the bench at the entrance but instead walked past one washroom, bedroom and a long hallway to come all the way into the kitchen despite hearing me on the phone. Can you imagine if it was a male staff member and I was in the shower?
The second time I was out and they came again all the way past a coat room, a bathroom, one bedroom, one long hallway to go into the master bedroom closet, next to the safe which was open because I didn't expect anyone to come in *on a dnd sign* to put two pool towels on top of my safe. It was a total invasion of privacy and felt like they were snooping or even trying to steal since they could easily have left them at the door. I reported both times to management and the rooms manager Diego had the audacity to tell me they knock on a do not disturb and if there's no answer they enter! What if you're sleeping or showering or busy? I never even requested pool towels and Diego said it's their new policy to put them in every room ... as if that justifies coming in on a dnd vs just giving them to me at the front desk that I passed by several times a day or leaving them at the door. The general manager Gabby told me she would address this but since it happened again, she clearly did not.
Shady practices from this property and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
((Also pictured a giant pile of trash I found in front of my door it took them forever to pick up)
Wonderful property with a lot of top notch amenities (gym, pool, sauna, work space and shared terraces). The room was very spacious (walking closet, double bed, large shower) and very comfortable with a very nice view over the water. Bonus for the good café in the entrance and all the shared spaces!
the gym
But they started loud renovations of the gym during my stay so it became super noisy and you're breathing in construction dust while working out. Unpleasant.
My room was over two construction sites: they started loud renovations on the gym which was directly under my room and a bar under my window redid their concrete patio. At night the extremely loud music from Rainey goes until 2am then construction starts at 8-9am.
I repeatedly asked them to change my room and they refused and kept making excuses. 0 consideration for the guest. Depending on the night the room I was in was 250-600$ ... at this price point not being over a construction site seems like a minimum.
After unsuccessfully trying to resolve it with the front desk and gm, I left a truthful review, simply wanting them to resolve the issue. Instead of moving my room, they lied to booking.com to say that I requested a cancellation, cancelled my booking and left me stranded.
Great amenities, feels like a resort.
Spacious rooms, stylish, great staff, central location.
Bathroom needed more places to hang towels
AMAZING gym, great location, great details in the room that make your stay more comfy, super cool common working area, great group classes at the gym, LELABO products
I would expect cleaning services more frequently. Per night the day rate was high compared to the rest of the year - however, SXSW was taking place so I get it completely
New, clean, great location, nice pool/sauna
A bit noisy as it’s right on Rainey. Drown it out with white noise.
