I loved all the finer details, this hotel was created by someone who genuinely thought about everything.
The hotel was clean, modern and very practical. A full kitchen, 2in1 washing machine/ dryer, filtered water station on the floor level, plant based products, superb security throughout the room- I could actually relax with my 5 yr old! Peep hole on front door, lock & security latch, back door was key locked and had a security latch. Bathroom mirror provided light. There was also a small light beside the toilet for midnight bathroom runs that didn’t blind you. The staff were very warming and professional. We were offered a drink while we waited for reception. Often were escorted to the elevator and sent up to our floor.
Genuinely the best stay I’ve ever had and every hotel should take Voco Darwin as the standard.
My only complaint is the bed could definitely use a comforter and the toilet was very tall (I’m 5.9”)

The hotel was new and just opened, so everything was fresh and new. More importantly, had a late check in because the flight arrived precisely at midnight but the hotel prepared everything well so could immediately check in and had some rest before the morning agenda.

The red sensor light on the ceiling was a bit annoying on n off everything you moved 😉
The Voco Suites was truly a lucky find. Apart from nice rooms, good beds, etc, what was outstanding here was the superb staff. I stayed for 12 days, and all the staff members were genuinely friendly - not just the perfunctory, automatic smile that one usually gets. The manager was always around for a chat, and chef John, originally from The Philippines, cooked everything to perfection.
This was overall the best hotel that I have ever stayed at.
- Prime location. Right in the middle of the city and within walking distance to good pubs and restaurants (Hanumann and right opposite Sweethearts Piano bar). You don't hear any of the street noise which is a big bonus!
- Continental breakfast had a bigger and better spread than some other restaurants.
- The hotel smells nice and loved the big comfy bathtowels.
Standard room was on the small side.
