Historic hotel : family owned, friendly, fabulous
Pros:

Wonderful location, right on the main street of beautiful Presteigne. Walking distance to cafés, antique shops and more. Stunning part of the country and easy access to Hay too if you want more options.
Garden room was quiet, comfortable and great value. Staff were friendly. Garden immaculate and seemed popular. The residents lounge is amazing too, wish we'd stayed longer to avail ourselves of them both. A very historic spot. Overall, fabulous - a wonderful family owned hotel.

Cons:

A minor thing but every time we used the dining room it was being set for the next meal, which wasn't very relaxing. Perhaps using the room next door too would help? Or at the very least buy a trolley or some trays to minimise the journeys needing to be made. We hesitate to stay as the staff were great but it did impinge a little. Everything else was wonderful and we'd recommend it to anyone and definitely stay again.
