Everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Very disappointed that there was no cooked breakfast option. Was really looking forward to a full English but ended up just having some toast.
The location, the bedroom, lounge and outside areas, plus excellent breakfast
Lovely area, lovely building.
Our room was at the top bit outdated
Beautiful historical and comfortable
The staff were very good. The continental style breakfast was excellent.
This is an inn. My room was above the bar. It was quiet by 11:30 pm but you might contact them if that affects your schedule, because there are other rooms. For me it was no problem.
Located in a lovely wee village.
History
Buffet continental breakfast, was plentiful but a lot it's always nice to be greeted when you come down in the morning and there was no one about when I had my breakfast. I had the Chilli for my evening meal and it was very good
We were aware when booking that only a 'continental' breakfast was provided and this was very acceptable (but see below). The room was a good size, well appointed and clean. On the evening we stayed, the menu was for a carvery only and this was very good. The menu for other days of the week looked very reasonable.
Whilst the 'continental' breakfast was acceptable, we felt that for a country hotel of this nature a cooked breakfast should have been made available. Free parking was available in a public car park at the rear of the hotel and we had to log in our registration number when checking in. It was quite off-putting to be told that we might be fined by a firm in London that managed the car park if we were parked incorrectly, but that if so we should pass this on to the hotel. One of the 'rules' was that all cars must be parked within a marked bay, but there were no bays marked out!
