Did not like
Much
Room didn’t match what was shown online, cleanliness was not there. Service was mediocre. Staff was not very helpful
位置方便
辦理入住的員工態度很不好,我們還沒辦理入住完畢,就叫下一組客人過來,很不受尊重
訂了超大間雙人床加沙發床,結果是雙人床和沙發,沙發連個棉被也沒有這叫沙發床?
Our shower did not have any body wash
Great location we were there for New Year’s Eve with teens and the staff made a fantastic effort with decorations and headbands hats etc and free champagne which really made the kids night
Nothing
easy access to everything
the bed is a little small
We've been to NYC many times, whether for work, fun, or a combination of both. We stayed at a variety of different Marriotts. If you want to stay at a full-service one, this is the one I would suggest.
Service-wise was top-notch.
We visited in mid-December, my husband headed to NYC for work for a few days before I flew in. His check-in went smoothly, so did mine.
It's a large hotel, and we were on the 34th floor and had a nice view. Many NYC hotels now have "resort fees." They have a list of cocktails that qualify it. But I asked for mocktail options, and bartenders came up with a few different options. It is a pricey hotel; pretty much everywhere is Christmas time in NYC in that area.
Shout out to Thomas, one of the concierges. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant he got us reservations for.
The hotel is near the 42nd st Grand Central subway stop, which, if you are visiting in December, is a bonus. You can get just about anywhere from the subway stop. You are also near a variety of restaurants and NY Public Library
Room itself
Checks all the boxes
Comfy bed, enough plugs, television.
The bathroom has a rainfall shower that is delightful.
Ottima posizione ottima colazione
For the most part, my experience at the Westin was pretty good. I went with my husband, my mother-in-law and my son my husband and I had a room and my mother-in-law and son had a room right next to us. There is a two hour time difference in New York than where we are from which made it more difficult for us to wake up early to go sightseeing. We usually would leave the hotel around noon. My mother-in-law and my son‘s room would always be clean when they came back from our adventures, which usually would be around 1 AM after seeing Broadway shows and having dinner, my husband and I, however, with a room right next to them would often come back to our room that was not made up even though I would send messages through the app to ask that our room be cleaned since I knew that we left after housekeeping got started. They would either state that housekeeping had already left for the day or that they would get it done and it wouldn’t be done. All I asked was that our bed would be made, and that our trash was taken out on the last night we were there. I had requested extra housekeeping and came to our room where the sofa bed was made up, but our bed was untouched. I stated in that message that I did not want our sofa bed made up that I wanted the bed made, and they said they would alert housekeeping to which I said we’re going to bed and it doesn’t matter. That same evening because I knew I had bought a lot of souvenirs from New York. I had target deliver another suitcase. Target sent me a picture to show that they had dropped the suitcase off with the front desk. I had alerted the Marriott message app that that would be happening and they said they would talk to a concierge team to speak to the concierge when we got back. We got back to the hotel two hours after the suitcase was delivered. I went and talked to the concierge where they told me that they had no idea what I was talking about. I showed them the picture and the concierge stated that he had been there all day and had never seen it. I asked him is there any other place that I might look or that would maybe have it he said that I would have to wait until 7 AM the next day because it was in storage and he had no way of getting into storage again when on the app and said I need the suitcase this evening. I have to pack for an early flight. The person on the message said that they would look into it within 15 minutes. My suitcase was brought to me by the door Mann Hector. Hector was fantastic. He was extremely polite and cheerful as he brought me the suitcase, even though it was close to midnight. I explained to him that I was sorry he had to come up all the way to my room to deliver the suitcase because I had been downstairs asking about it before I came up. He asked me what it happened and I explained to him that the concierge told me that he literally had no idea what I was talking about and did not make a move to try to assist to be in anyway. I told him that the concierge said that he didn’t have any key to the storage facility where things might’ve been kept that he didn’t see, even though he was there all day and didn’t see my package being delivered. I explained to him my dissatisfaction with this lack of help towards finding an item of mine that had just been delivered two hours previously and was essential for me to have the evening before so that I could be on time for my flight. He assured me that the concierge actually does have keys to the storage and he wasn’t sure why they would’ve said that they didn’t have access to it. I explained to him that even if he didn’t have access, I was really surprised that he didn’t at least try to make a move to speak to someone who would maybe have seen the package be delivered or maybe would have access or knew someone that would have access to where it was in Hector. The doorman also explained that that was unacceptable and that that should’ve never happened. We both found out that the person who was giving me this information was named Jose, and I was extremely dissatisfied with his lack of attention to detail and his callous and unenthusiastic response to my dilemma. If I were to go back to New York, which I very much plan on going back. I probably would not go back to the Westin, even though I found the accommodations perfectly acceptable, but due to the lack of, in my opinion, basic amenities that I feel most hotels would have tried to have met, but failed to put in even a small modicum of effort, despite the amount of money that my husband and family paid to secure a hotel in the middle of New York City, really put me off into wanting to stay at this hotel again. I do also want to reiterate that Hector the doorman literally saved my evening by putting it that extra effort in to bring me my suitcase so that I would be able to number one be able to sleep the night before my flight and number two be able to make the flight in a timely manner so that I didn’t have to pack phonetically before I left to be on time.
Excellent hotel in a great location, just a 5 minute walk to grand central station and 5th avenue. Good amenities within hotel and wonderful staff and especially a doorman named Hector, very knowledgeable about area and an all round great guy, we would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a stay in New York City
Beautiful hotel well maintained in every detail, the staff was extremely kind and always helpful. My family and I had a wonderful stay and felt very comfortable throughout our time there. The location is excellent and very convenient. Whenever we didn’t know where to go or what to do, we could always ask for information at the hotel they explained everything clearly and were always available to help. The cleanliness was also outstanding. Highly recommended!!!!!
The hotel location was convenient and the room was clean. We were appalled by the General Manager (Sam) and his behavior when we discovered our room had been left wide open by staff all day. His arrogance, speaking down to us and offering nothing but "his name" to take it up with someone else was the opposite of hospitality. We felt so violated anyone could have gone through our room and he couldn't care less. We even asked to review footage when there was a purse zipper opened and he smirked and said I'll offer you my name good luck. Pierre his subordinate waited until Sam walked off and offered us extra water and towels (we had been stocked with 2 daily even though there were 4 of us) and said to please come back down after going through our room again if we needed further assistance. Pierre should be the one running the hotel, he knows hospitality.
