Second time I’ve stayed in 3 weeks and this is my go to Brighton hotel. Well located and amazing service from the whole team.
Stayed in this beautiful, quirky, high quality hotel for a conference. Although a fair walk from the conference centre it was an absolute joy to stay here. Everything, from the staff, the decor, the breakfasts and the rooms were all high quality. No request was too much and to be greeted by genuine smiles everyday was wonderful.
I do not hesitate to recommend this bijou hotel and its wonderful views over Brighton seafront and the pier. Even the recommendation of a fish and chip supper was superb.
Thank you
Very smart boutique hotel, immaculate inside and out. The Marine Parade location means some rooms have a sea view, including mine, a beautifully decorated, ground floor room, with a large bay window overlooking the bay. The contemporary bathroom was also stylish, with nice products. No mini-fridge but tea and coffee making is provided. It was slightly chilly on this March visit, and I did need to use the additional electric heater provided. The hotel has a chic all day bar, serving a full range of drinks, plus an acclaimed restaurant 'Dilsk'.
There's a handful of parking spaces out front.
We had a brilliant stay at Drakes, the hotel was a lovely location by the sea and not too far from the centre. The room was excellent with a bath and a sea view - which we were upgraded to for free! It was well equipped and easy to check into. I would definitely recommend staying.
Booked this lovely hotel overlooking the sea and the pier in Brighton for 2 nights. Very friendly welcome and helpful staff. Parking next door was very useful (£25 per night) and it was close to all the things we wanted to do. Not cheap but would recommend.
Great hotel, really friendly and welcoming staff and the breakfast was really good. Would highly recommend.
The location is great, along with the staff, facilities and the atmosphere. A must go in Brighton! Don’t miss it.
we enjoyed our short stay very much. Walking distance to Pavillion, The Lanes, Pier - location ideal. Breakfast delicious, staff couldn’t have been more friendly. Parking space next door was very welcome bonus. The room and bed were a bit smaller than expected but we would still come again. Thank you .
A little bit faded and tired especially room furniture,
Quite a high price for the time of year.
Good sea view but noisy road.
Staff were impeccable.
Stayed here for our anniversary, we were met with a warm smile and greetings from the staff. The bar area is clean and has a beautiful view of the seafront and pier (not even the poor weather could spoil it). We had a personalised welcoming postcard in our room offering congratulations on our anniversary and rose petals on the bed. The tea & coffee supplies in the room are all fair trade and even came with delicious little shortbread biscuits.
The bathroom was well decorated with some blue-LED lights which came on when you enter giving it a 'spa' feel. The bathroom supplies (moisturiser, hand wash etc..) are all from Green and Spring and gave the room the most amazing spa-like aroma
Breakfast was served in the eating area in the basement which is beautifully decorated with dark tones offset with bright bronze and gold giving it again, a 'rich' and 'warm' feel to it. The Waitress was polite and welcoming. The breakfast was well-priced for locally sourced and high quality food (I highly recommend the full English breakfast)
All in all i can't find a fault, even though we stayed during a weekend of dreary weather the Hotel made it worthwhile
Warmest welcome, the staff from chambermaids to managers friendly and helpful. We were distracted by having to attend a funeral' the reason for our stay, and they couldn't have been kinder. The bed was amazingly comfortable and breakfast excellent but if you're old like us you might want to consider there are a lot of stairs. Parking was very convenient & would certainly book again if they had availability on the first floor!
Great stay. Very friendly. The hotel was in a good location and was very easy from booking to leaving. It was a good place to stay.
This is a hotel with a difference. The rooms are all individual. The beds are really comfortable with high quality linen. The bar is great and the location is very central with wonderful views
It has been a crazy year and as such, we've not got away anywhere for a holiday in ages. So we decided to just hop in the car, drive down to Brighton and just bumble about for a couple of days just to have gone somewhere that wasn't home.
Picked the Drakes online as it was a decent price, had parking available, was still pretty near everything in town and was also comfortable enough to meet our narrowing standards as we get older! :)
Place was easy to find, we got a warm welcome, were checked in swiftly and shown to our room. Nice size, clean, very modern and was a little quirky as our bathroom was on a split level down some steps in a corner of the room. Bed was decent and comfortable, room was quiet too so no disturbances either.
We paid extra for breakfast, which was a set menu but not a bad choice. There was also no fuss when I asked to swap out my egg on my full English for another rasher of baconsausage. Also, the Strawberry jam for the toast was amazing! So much so, I asked where they got it. "We make it ourselves" was the proud response and I asked if I could perhaps buy some. The nice lady serving said she'd see what she could do.
Next morning at breakfast she presented us with a healthy sized jar of the stuff and told us we could pay for it at check out. It's been a lovely treat for my morning toast at homes a couple times a week since! :)
The breakfast room doubles as a restaurant in the evenings, but we didn't try it out purely because we were trying not to be lazy and getting out and about for dinner. The menu looked quite good and prices weren't terrible either, so might be worth a punt if you do stay here.
On the Sunday when we came to leave, the car failed to start and the guys at reception were great with keeping our slot free so I could get to Halfords in a cab to sort it out (bloody dead battery!). No hasssle.
Would absolutely stay here again if stopping in Brighton. Highly recommend.
Room 10 has been updated since the hotel opened about 15 years ago. The decor is fun. My only whinge would be please put a mini fridge in the room. Putting the milk against the windows does not look good....more like a cheap bedsit place rather than a boutique hotel!!
We thoroughly enjoyed a two night break staying in an excellent room (5) with a great sea view. The ensuite wet room was fine and my partner really enjoyed the large bath in the bay window.
The service was faultless and very friendly.
We ate out and about in Brighton except for the last night when we dined at Dilsk - the integral but independent restaurant. Definitely book a tasting menu there.
Lovely hotel with convenient location and beautiful sea view. All the staff were polite and welcoming.
Everything about this wonderful hotel was perfect for our 2 day stay in Brighton. The fact that I was working in the building next door couldn't have made the location any more convenient!
Decor is lovely and attention-to-detail, second-to-none. Every single one of the staff were pleasant, courteous and efficient. The cocktails bar is a nice bonus. The only reason I'm not going to gush further is that I don't want to make it so over-subscribed it'll be impossible to book next time!
A lovely small boutique hotel right on the sea front with a great bar and super comfy beds. Great cocktails too !
Everything perfect! Location, check in, great host Joanne, room very comfortable and done up beautifully, modern and lots of amenities and little touches, superb breakfast in bed!
