The hotel had a nice friendly atmosphere
Pros:

Breakfast need some scrambled or fried eggs and the location was perfect

good location, but weird.
Pros:

The location was excellent, right there in old town and very 'walkable' to attractions and food venues.

Cons:

My room had NO WINDOW, just a large print I guess to give my eyes something to look at other than a blank wall. It was very strange and felt a bit claustrophobic, I was tempted to complain, especially for the price I was paying, then I noticed there was no rubbish can. I did ask the desk to have one brought to my room, but was told to use the bathroom rubbish receptical again for what I was paying I think having an even small container wasn't asking too much. Since I was only staying 2 nights I decided to focus on the charm of Edinbrugh, but doubt I'd stay there again.

Pros:

the location is amazing - close to the train station and the historic town, as well as all the shops and restaurants and cafes.
the staff is very helpful, and they were also nice to give us a room with a view to the Scott Monument.

Would definitely stay again!
Pros:

The location!!! Less than 2 minutes from Edinburgh Waverley - super easy after arriving into the city at 7.30am after the sleeper train. Also the hotel is right on the bottom of the Royal Mile and it was so easy to pop back to the hotel and have a nap or change before dinner. Right next to the famous Milkman coffee spot too.

Added bonus - they said they can store our luggage so no problem there, but when we arrived they already had a room ready for us so we were able to check in at 8am instead of 3pm which was amazing.

Cons:

Minor really for a weekend but we were on the ground floor so the view wasn't great as it was a basement level.
