Pros:

Water activities is with in resort and reasonable priced. Convenient transport services available within resort for other attractions.

Cons:

Residence apartment although located within Lotus Desaru Resort, it is managed privately. So any service or issues we need to contact individual apartment owner which is a hassle. Even extra blanket we could not get. Some of the resort facilities like Gym, swimming pool etc. cannot be used when we book through Residence apartment.
Breakfast even though it allowed us to book the resort denied and we need to pay from our pocket first and claim separately from apartment owner. Overall we lost about 10% due to two way conversion.

A good enough place for family outings and can carry out adequate activities within the compound.
Pros:

There are a lot of facilities within the resort. Its for kids and family of big sizes as there are plenty of rooms. The breakfast spread is also very wide. The Els Golf course is just a few minutes drive away which is convenient.

Cons:

The place looks a bit old and perhaps need a bit more maintenance. Air conditioning also took awhile to get the room cold however it turned really cold after a few hours.

The resort has a very nice beachfront location with beautiful views. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the facilities such as the swimming pool and water park were enjoyable for families. Staff were friendly and the environment was relaxing for a short getaway.

Cons:

Some facilities look a bit old and could use better maintenance. Check-in took longer than expected, and cleanliness in certain areas can be improved during peak periods.
