The Colony Hotel Bali

It was clean and comfortable, very peaceful around the lovely pool.

I loved the colonial design and decor, the veranda with daybed was lovely. The bathroom was luxurious with large shower and claw foot bath. The premiere lounge was a nice touch and breakfast was delicious. The pool area was also lovely.

Location was great and I liked the boutique style of the hotel.

Pretty much everything was excellent - an oasis of calm and class in a chaotic town. The reception staff are amazing, the decor lovely. The 5pm Sundowners in the lounge is a really nice touch. Really well positioned, plenty of good restaurants and boutiques within an easy walk.

Love this hotel . The room was beautifully clean and the staff super friendly and helpful . I wouid definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be staying there in the future 👍

The Colony Hotel was an absolute gem and one of the highlights of our stay in Bali. This beautiful boutique hotel is perfectly located in the heart of busy Seminyak, yet once you step inside, it feels like a peaceful oasis—you’d never know the bustling streets were just outside.

The rooms were stylish, spotless, and beautifully maintained, and the pool area was equally stunning. It was the perfect place to relax after a day of exploring.

The only minor downside for us was that the pool was a little too cold for our liking. Other than that, everything was exceptional. The service was warm and attentive, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing, and best of all, not a single screaming child in sight!

Less than a year ago, my wife and I booked our stay at The Colony Hotel in Bali after reading countless Google reviews and browsing through what seemed like hundreds of photos—as most of us do these days before choosing where to stay.

To be honest, perhaps we have become a little spoiled. Through both our professional careers and our personal travels, we've been fortunate enough to see a great deal of the world and stay in many wonderful hotels.

This trip was our very first visit to Bali, and our expectations were nothing short of high.

The drive from the airport can be a little chaotic at first. For a first-time Scandinavian visitor, the busy streets, endless stream of scooters, and seemingly organised chaos can be quite an experience. Looking back, however, it's simply part of Bali's unique charm.

The Colony Hotel is perfectly located, just a short stroll from the beach. Crossing the main beachfront road brings you to the ocean, where an evening walk or a refreshing dip at sunset is something I would highly recommend.

The hotel itself is an absolute gem. It has a timeless colonial elegance that somehow blends the Art Deco atmosphere of Miami's South Beach with a touch of old Havana, Cuba, while adding a hint of Southern Louisiana charm. The result is a boutique hotel full of character, warmth, and understated luxury.

From the moment you arrive, the staff make you feel genuinely welcome. The service is warm, attentive, and personal without ever feeling intrusive. The rooms are beautifully maintained, the pool area is peaceful, and the entire property has an atmosphere that invites you to slow down and simply enjoy being there.

A special mention must go to Tami, the hotel manager, who is nothing short of a star. Her knowledge of Bali, endless recommendations, and genuine desire to ensure every guest has the best possible experience made a huge difference to our stay. She happily shared insider tips on places to visit, restaurants not to miss, and experiences we otherwise would never have discovered.

Her kindness didn't stop there. She even helped us arrange our next hotel after leaving The Colony and managed to secure us a special discount. That level of personal service is exceptionally rare and speaks volumes about both her professionalism and the hotel's commitment to its guests.

If you're looking for a boutique hotel in Seminyak with personality, impeccable service, and an unbeatable location, The Colony Hotel is difficult to fault. It became one of the highlights of our first visit to Bali, and we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Right next door to Kim Soo and staff are lovely .. special mention for Tammy (concierge) who is a wealth of helpful, local knowledge. Great value … would stay again!

We enjoyed every day at the Colony Hotel. It was an absolute oasis, afternoons by the beautiful pool, great A/C in our room, really comfortable bed, quiet at night, bottled water every day, laundry done, good shower, very clean and well maintained, great service, good gym and lovely spa treatment. Great location with an easy walk to the best eating places and the beach. We will be back.
