I would avoid this hotel in future
Pros:

Breakfast was great, eggs both hard boiled and fried were available.

Cons:

Check in was frustrating. The clerk wanted to put a zero dollar hold on my credit card as a security deposit but my credit cards don’t allow zero dollar holds. The clerk’s attitude was ambivalent about the situation and only when I had tried all 4 of my credit cards did she say they would have to check my room for damages at checkout.
The room layout was jigsaw puzzle like. Difficult for 2 people to move about the space.

Location is perfect. Car parking just in front of hotel. Beautiful plaza Arenal a minute away. Close to major sights. Staff, especially receptionist Lucia, great.

Cons:

Don’t know who said rooms spacious ours not. Cramped, awkward shape little natural light. Bathroom nicely presented but soap by hand basis very difficult to access and separate shower cubicle cramped.
