Awesome hotel. Amazing pool with sea water where you can swim even it's a bad weather for beach. Yummy and various breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also I want to hightlight the perfect job of animation team with interesting activities (like pilates, aqua gym, dancing, games and parties). Two beautiful girls and Carlo were on the top. Reception is always ready to help you. The location is also good, supermarket and bus stop are near hotel. The room has a big space and enough light with a balcony where you can enjoy your time. Clean. No doubt, it's the best place to enjoy your time in the south of Tenerife with family.
This hotel have changed a lot in a good way
The food is great, the stuff is nice, the rooms are renovated
We've participated in animation "Hawaï party" and it was really funny! Animators are professional, it was a lot of good energy there
I would like to come back again
Best place for a first time visit with family
Best hotel with beautiful room proper view of the beach...
Would highly recommend
At the pool everyday there's a new activity from the animation team...Carlo..Nadia..very good at aqua gym and yoga and pilates..
Amazing place, great location and fantastic breakfast.
This February we spent a great time at ONA Alborada in Las Galletas, Tenerife. Nice rooms, amazing pool on the ocean and relaxing atmosphere. La Lanza restaurant good choice for the dinner. A special mention to the animation guys, Carlo, Nadia and Antonella, always ready to entertain us and our daughter during the day with nice activities!
This is our best apartment in the Canaries – featuring a comfy bed, a great bathroom, and a terrace with a view of palm trees and green parrots. The animators do a brilliant job; they have a fantastic connection with guests and organize great fun at the pool, which was cleaned 3 times during our stay. The food is delicious and healthy, perfect for fit people, ranging from sushi and Mexican flavors to traditional Canarian potatoes and excellent carbonara. We really appreciated the free sunbeds that were always available and the incredibly friendly staff in the restaurant. A high-quality travel cot with a waterproof mattress was prepared for our child, which was a huge plus for us. An added bonus is the hassle-free street parking right next to the hotel.
We stayed at the ona alborada for 10 days back on the 7th of March. Last year we were there it was peaceful &relaxing very clean apartments bedding changed after 5 days . Lovely clean sea water pool spoiled by loud music and staff wanting us to do aqua aerobics dance class 3ct I just wanted peace and quite don't think I'll be back again. Friendly staff always happy to help.
First time in Tenerife, have done other Canary Islands but not this one so was looking forward to it.
Firstly, there is no doubt that Ona Alborada is one ugly building, however don’t be put off by this.
The reception looks smart and the staff are all courteous and helpful. We stayed for a week on a room only basis, so can’t comment on the food available.
Our accommodation was clean and very comfortable with well appointed en-suite shower and loo. The kitchen area and equipment served our purpose; we only cooked breakfast.
The sea water pool area is spacious and well kept. This time of year(January) there were plenty of loungers to go round. There is also access to a tiny beach if you fancy some sand and the open ocean.
If you are after a blast of winter sun Ona Alborada is a perfectly fine place to stay and we would consider coming back here.
Las Galletas as a resort has a bit of a tired feel to it and is a lot quieter than Los Cristianos and Playa de Las Americas just up the coast, which in a way suited us. The local family run restaurants were friendly with decent food although many of the menus were quite similar. The harbour area is pleasant especially at sunset. Had a car for a couple of days and we were very impressed with the stunning scenery especially Tiede national park.
Overall an enjoyable experience.
So me and my girlfriend checked in early morning after a night flight (arrived approximately 2am) our first day we wake up feeling rather unfresh as you can imagine! To find there's no hot water.
We were told this was due to maintenance.
And will be off 8am till 4pm
No prior warning when we checked in.
Ok these things happen! We understood although not ideal an we excepted it!
Then today our third day guess what! Yeah no water at all today! Can't even brush our teeth!!!!
My girlfriend went down to reception to complain.
They said " it's off 8am till 4pm"
There was a notice in the lift!!! Which consisted of
Paragraphs of small writing on a A4 piece of paper left for customers to notice! Who the hells reading noticies in lifts when there off out for the day or coming back in after a long day! We're on 1st floor and in the lift for 5 seconds 🤣.
I'll attach picks make your own mind up on the notice.
Regardless we're not asking much for running water. Basic human needs!!!
We said we'd like to check out and asked them to reimburse us for the next 3 nights were not staying! Not the 2 days we've already had a miserable experience for just the next 3 nights of our stay. This is a massive inconvenience in itself to pack and move atleast they could do is refund us the next 3 nights ! They outright refused saying we booked through booking.com
So we're leaving regardless and have had to spend an considerable amount (£1000 ) to stay somewhere nice to try and enjoy what's left of trip!
I truly loved my entire stay at Ona Alborada in Las Galletas and for me it was a full five star experience. One important thing to mention right away is to not judge this place by its cover. From the street the outside of the resort honestly looks rough and uninviting and could easily be mistaken for an old gulag style prison or some kind of underground secret bunker. However the moment you step inside the lobby everything changes and the atmosphere immediately feels welcoming relaxed and well cared for.
I stayed in a recently renovated room on the third floor that overlooked the water and everything about it was perfect. The room felt fresh modern and comfortable and the view was absolutely stunning. Waking up every day and looking out over the ocean felt like a million dollar experience and never got old.
The pool area was one of my favorite parts of the property. The loungers were comfortable and it was the perfect place to relax all day while enjoying the beautiful ocean view. It was peaceful and ideal for unwinding whether you wanted to read swim or simply sit back and enjoy the scenery. The view from the pool area is truly gorgeous and makes it easy to lose track of time.
Breakfast at the hotel was very good with a nice variety of fresh options available each morning. There was a little bit of everything and it was more than enough to start the day off right. In the afternoons the pool bar restaurant was also excellent. The drinks were well made and the rotisserie chicken with fries was fantastic. You can choose to pay for all meals at the hotel but I heard that lunch and dinner are served as a set menu if you prepay. I personally only paid for breakfast and then ordered lunch separately and ordered whatever I wanted on the days I stayed which worked perfectly for me.
Now the fine print is very important and knowing this ahead of time makes all the difference. There is no housekeeping at all unless you are staying longer than seven days. If you want clean towels there is a charge of two euros per towel. If you run out of supplies you pay for replacements. If you need a pool towel you also have to pay for that. As long as you keep your room tidy reuse your towels and bring your own pool towel you will be completely fine. If you expect daily cleaning and free extras this could be disappointing.
One of the most important things to know is that there is no air conditioning and no heating in the rooms. You are able to rent a fan but on a very hot summer day I cannot imagine that being enough. I was lucky to have perfect weather during my stay so this was not an issue for me at all and that is a big reason why I still rate this stay so highly. The weather couldn't have better the entire time.
The surrounding town of Las Galletas is wonderful and adds a lot to the overall experience. It has a very local and relaxed feel with many family run restaurants throughout the town. The waterfront walk is especially nice and is lined with restaurants and places to sit and enjoy the view. It feels authentic and welcoming rather than overly touristy.
Parking however can be a serious challenge. Parking is very limited throughout the entire town and finding a spot can take time and patience. I am used to city parking so this did not bother me much but if you need easy or guaranteed parking this is definitely something to consider before staying here.
Overall Ona Alborada was a five star stay for me because I knew what to expect and everything lined up perfectly. The views the renovated room the relaxing pool area and the great food all made for an excellent experience. As long as you read the fine print and come prepared for no housekeeping and no air conditioning you will likely have a great stay as well.
We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained, with comfortable beds. The location is perfect — close to the city center, yet wonderfully quiet, so you can enjoy peace and relaxation. The breakfast was exceptional and offered a wide variety of delicious options. We recommend staying at this hotel.
This hotel is in a very quiet part of Tenerife. The Hotel is very large but most apartments occupied permanently. Before going we read the reviews and thought oh no what have we done. But we really liked it. We liked all the staff, We like the massive pool. We loved the apartment which was new and refurbished. There isn't much entertainment but we did have a singer one night and we had a good old dance. We didn't eat at Hotel because we did our own thing, Making our own breakfasts and lunches and some dinners. Give it a go. It was cheap and cheerful and gave us the rest we needed.
Lovely hotel
Beautiful rooms
Impressive pool
Friendly staff
Charming little town
In 14 days, we’ll be visiting the hotel for the third time this year.
The pool is amazing when clean, but often has green slime and weeds in because it is seawater, so can be cleaned upto 3 times a week, at 1.30pm, so some afternoons unable to use. Apartment very nice but only cleaned once in 9 days. Locals pay 7 euros to use pool and can take in their own food and drink, but paying guests are not allowed to do this! Very dangerous around bar / restaurant area with steep unmarked steps, tables and chairs hiding the actual steps. My husband and I use wheelchairs, we have stayed here many times, after my last review the reception manager phoned me to ask me to give a higher score in return for a promise that if we had a special request on our next booking, they would try to honour it, I asked for a ground floor apartment with morning sun, we were given one on the 3rd floor! A lot of people live in the hotel who have dogs, therefore a lot of dog mess on pavements outside hotel, never once saw a 'poo bag'. This could be a 4-5 star hotel eventually, but a long way still to go, in my opinion, it is overpriced, espeically meals, Don Pedro far better value for money.
