Widder Hotel

By far the best quality and most aesthetic hotel experience in Zurich. Staff, rooms, restaurants and bars are all 5star+++.

The hotel is a combination of rustic/modern elegance. They made our 2 days in Zurich easy to manage. The hotel is centrally located and everyone was accommodating, friendly and always available for any request or arrangement that I needed help with. I was traveling with my two teen kids and felt very well taken care of. The breakfast was quiet and delicious. We did not have dinner there only because we had pre arranged dining plans before we arrived, however I’m looking forward to trying dinner on our next trip. I would stay at The Widder any time I’m in Zurich visiting from NYC.

The Widder Hotel is located within the high-end shopping district of Zurich. Just step outside and you are in shopping heaven. It is also a short 7 minute walk to the main train station making it a great choice if you plan on using the train system to travel to other areas of Switzerland and beyond. It is also a block away from many bus stops which is another great way to get around Zurich. The hotel is a boutique and small in nature but there is a seating when you come in and a lounge off the entrance. The rooms themselves are cozy but spacious enough. Views are of the City and in some cases, you can see some mountain views in the distance. The hotel staff is extremely attentive and the concierge available day and night to assist with your every trip detail.

I had a fantastic time at the hotel! We stayed in the penthouse, and it was in excellent condition and had a great location. The restaurant and bar were both top-notch, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. A big thank you to the wonderful staff and management at Widder for their hospitality!

I travel the world and this is one of the best hotels I ever stay at. It never failed. Welcoming reception, strategic location, beautiful building, tasteful rooms. A treat.

We booked the family suite and it's one of the best rooms we've stayed in as a family of 4. The children's area was separate which is always nice! Staff show you up to your room and this was a lovely personal touch while they explain the hotel services. Breakfast was wonderful, great food and beautiful service by all staff. We would love to return and stay longer. Location of the hotel is wonderful. Lots of little lounge areas and garden to sit in. The bar was very popular w locals too and had live piano the night we were there.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Widder Hotel and cannot say enough good things about this place.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such thoughtful touches - a beautiful welcome spread in our room complete with complimentary wine and desserts, plus an elegant orchid. It set the tone for what would be an exceptional stay.

The Widder Bar is hands down the coolest, most fun spot we've experienced. The historical setting combined with incredible atmosphere made it unforgettable - the bar team even shared the rich history of the space with us, which made the experience even more special. The beautifully crafted cocktails and attentive service were perfection. We loved every minute and every person behind that bar.

The outdoor garden bar area is adorable, featuring vintage ski gondolas decorated with wooden skis, sleds, and evergreens that you can reserve for fondue - such a quintessentially Swiss experience.

Breakfast was equally impressive. Even though we arrived close to closing time, the staff never made us feel rushed. They gave us the full experience with warm, gracious service from start to finish.

Every single staff member we encountered was amazing and so accommodating. The hospitality here is truly exceptional - you can tell everyone genuinely cares about creating a memorable experience for their guests.

The location on Augustiner-Gasse in Zurich's Old Town is perfect, and the hotel beautifully blends historic charm with modern luxury. We can't recommend the Widder Hotel highly enough. This is exactly what luxury hospitality should feel like.

3 nights at very historic hotel. Location was fantastic. Staff were amazing. I had a special request that needed multiple steps and the concierge(s) were wonderfully helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a central and reasonably priced hotel. Worth more than what we paid.

The widder delivered on its expectations. Very interesting building that the rooms Meander through. Staff extremely well trained, and friendly . Extremely expensive, but that is life in Zürich.

We absolutely loved the Widder. The location is perfect, the staff is top notch and the property is so unique and beautiful. The breakfast is amazing, the bar is relaxed and cool, the elevator is a fun ride. Honestly, I can't wait to stay here again.

All round brilliant experience. Great location in the old town but convenient location for everything we wanted. Staff were great. Helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. Great interaction. Restaurant is lovely. Breakfast. Lunch or the special event supper. Most of their products are from their own farm or locally sourced. Definitely recommend. Room was very nice. Clean and spacious. We will return and highly recommend.

This hotel is just amazing. The perfect location, the rooms are each unique. The food options , the staff all of it was just perfect. I would not stay anywhere else in Zurich!

The Widder does not miss a trick.. from the greeters at the door and front desk upon arrival to the daily staff to the cleanliness to its architecture. The Widder is an architectural gem. It’s been restored from nine free-standing medieval buildings to create the hotel that spans an entire block in the old city portion of Zurich. The sleeping room and the bathroom are spacious and pristine. The breakfast is delicious offering both buffet and made-to-order selections. We did not eat dinner in the Michelin Star restaurant but did spend time in the bar which was well-stocked as well as the outdoor garden restaurant. Each area in the hotel is unique but combines together seamlessly to create this truly wonderful hotel. The Widder clearly deserves its 5 star rating.
