The pool was a great addition to the purple tree
Perhaps could have been closer to the main part of town harbour and restaurants but there are bus stops nearby for the not so able bodied
Everything was good, but it would have been even more perfect if we had had the opportunity to eat lunch and dinner at the property, otherwise you have to order from somewhere else or go to the restaurant every time you are hungry.
The hosts were lovely and made sure our stay was great

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Hosts, Ian and Deb were amazing and very helpful. Breakfast was fantastic with the best poached eggs ever. Nice pool and hot tub and an inexpensive bar.

Our stay at The Purple Tree Guest House was nothing short of perfect, and it's all thanks to the incredible hospitality and wonderful setting. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and looked after.
The standout of our visit was the exceptional customer service from our host, Ian and Debs. He truly goes above and beyond to make his guests feel special. I had secretly planned to have some surprise flowers waiting in our room, and they handled the request flawlessly, helping to make a special moment even more memorable. His attentiveness and genuine care are what set this place apart.
The guest house itself is full of a wonderful, old-school charm that feels both elegant and incredibly comfortable. We were blown away by the size of our room – it was huge! There was so much space to spread out and relax, making it feel like a true home away from home.
One of our favourite features was the beautiful pool area. It was the perfect spot to unwind and soak up the sun on a lazy afternoon.
If you're looking for a place with character, warmth, and a host who makes you feel like a valued friend rather than just a guest, you cannot do better than The Purple Tree.

From the moment we arrived and throughout our stay our hosts Ian and Debbie were fantastic and with lots of information about the area, the rooms were clean and homely and the outdoor pool was amazing, breakfast was very nice with lots of choice, would highly recommend The Purple Tree as a home away from home.
