The service recovery by Front Desk Manager Norman was truly outstanding. Despite it being Christmas, he did not make any excuses and was fully committed to ensuring we had a great experience. He immediately arranged for maintenance to address the air-conditioning issue, and when it could not be resolved, he proactively changed our room and extended thoughtful gestures as part of the service recovery.
Compared to my past experiences at other hotels, where staff often provide reasons or excuses, Norman stood out with his positive attitude, genuine care, and warm smile throughout our stay. His dedication truly made our Christmas joyful and heartwarming.
I would strongly recommend this hotel without hesitation. Front Desk Manager Norman is truly the right person for the role — super friendly, approachable, and always wearing a genuine smile that instantly lifts your mood. His positive attitude and sincere care made a real difference to our stay, and he truly made us feel welcomed and valued. Because of Norman, our experience was not just comfortable, but genuinely happy and memorable.
Everyone was very nice and helpful. Close to so many places: shopping, restaurants, attractions.
We stayed 5 days in the hotel and it was a pleasant experience. I booked the accommodation and later on read the Tripadvisor review. To my surprise there’s issue of theft and got me really worried. I sent an email to the management expressing my concern They email me back and assured that extra security measures was implemented.
The AC in the room is not working well. The hotel immediately sent someone to fix it.
The swimming pool is enormous and you can see the petronas tower.
The view in our bedroom is the KL tower. Some nights there’s a light show which is very cool.
Overall experience and impression is great.
What’s the point of staying in a five-star hotel if it’s not even safe?
We had three suitcases in our room. One cabin-sized suitcase was secured with a password-protected padlock. When we returned from being out, we discovered that the padlock was no longer functioning. We tried several times to open it but failed.
Then we noticed unusual scratches on both the padlock and the suitcase cover, suggesting that someone had tampered with it. We eventually had to use kitchen utensils to break the padlock. Fortunately, nothing was stolen from the suitcase, but the suitcase—worth thousands—was damaged. As a result, we had to buy a new one to replace it.
We decided not to report the incident to hotel management, as we had already read reviews saying the staff were unhelpful and unfriendly. We felt that reporting it wouldn’t lead to any resolution.
Even though nothing was stolen, this kind of experience is unacceptable for a five-star hotel. Not recommended
We stayed 4 nights in a very spacious 2 bed apartment, which had an additional room that could be used as an office. Check in was easy and we managed to get access to our room a little bit earlier which was great as we’d landed very early in KL. The overall decor is nice, if a little tired but that didn’t affect anything really. Beds all very comfortable but do expect some traffic noise from the main roads early in the morning.
The pool area is fantastic, it’s pretty much always shaded and there are some hot tubs, jacuzzis on the side. The gym is also very well equipped and never busy.
The location is great for central KL, 8 mins walk to Pavillion mall and you can then use the covered walkway to get to KLCC and the Petronas towers. It’s easy to get Grab taxis and there is also free parking if needed, local train stations are also very close.
We didn’t have breakfast included in our stay, which is fine as there are plenty of cafes just downstairs - Fatimah’s cafe is perfect for local cheap eats. There are also food stalls every weekday lunchtime for the office workers but it’s well worth wandering over and trying a few bits and pieces.
We would definitely stay here again next time we’re in KL.
It was great to have the extra room over a hotel and the pool is great.
There is a long list of rules when you check in! Seem to be wanting to avoid “party” types.
The lounges have the worlds most uncomfortable sofas and only small so not great to sit inside together as a group/family. The kitchen is ok and the rooms ok and clean.
The breakfast is not great if you are in a hurry (you can exchange your coupons at local places) but the quality and quantity was good and there are plenty of places around. I would encourage you not to take breakfast through the hotel and just go to the venues yourself - more flexibility.
It is an easy walk to pavilion a supermarket and other restaurants which is good. If on a short stay I would chose the local Novotel, if on a long stay I would choose an Airbnb and if I want a fancy hotel I would stay at the ruma or eq. Ruma is better than EQ. (I have stayed at all 3)
Currently staying in KL and enjoying an apartment with my family
It feels secure with security on the site, around the drop off car park and reception
Reception respond to any issues with your room. We had a minor issue with a light. Solved quickly.
Apartment is a good size with living room, bedrooms, kitchen and washing machine
Restaurants in and around the complex
Swimming pool is excellent. Large. Wonderful in the evening with underwater lighs. Great to swim after site seeing
We stayed at the E&O Residences for one night in a 2 bedroom suite. We booked due to the great location and our perfect experience previously.
We stayed in 2020. Unfortunately, we noticed a substantial decline in the property since then.
We found reception to be fairly attentive and friendly but very slow. We needed to pay a deposit on check in. We paid cash and it was returned on checkout. However, prior to the money being returned, a room check needed to be completed, which seemed to take a long time. This was inconvenient with a taxi waiting.
Rooms were big and functional but very dated and in need of a refresh. The bedding situation is not ideal. We booked a room with a queen bed and one king bed. We received a room with 2 singles and 1 double bed. The bed was extremely small and definitely not a king bed.
The cleaning was questionable, with the wardrobe door covered in what looked like caked on brown mud from a previous guest.
Air conditioning did not work in one room and as it was late when we returned to the room we did not have time to advise reception as our kids wanted to sleep.
There are so many positive points of this hotel - location, pool, gym. Unfortunately, this was quite a disappointing stay, especially since our previous trip to this property was so enjoyable.
In an otherwise good, and well equiped apartment, the only problem remains it's disfunction...
There is a good washing machine and drier.... but no washing powder to wash with.
There is a perfectly good set of crockery and cutlery - and a sink with water..... but NO washing detergent.
This not a critique of E&O Residences per se... but applies to most such short stay apartments I have stayed in, world wide. They just don't function - due to a lack of insight.
If a supply of small sachets of washing detergent and sponge, and washing powder were supplied or made available, everyone would be a lot happier to return.
Their cleaner stole 2000 usd from my room while we were at breakfast. Staff was extremely unhelpful and dismissive
Had to file a police report, still have t gotten my money back. Would not recommend this place to anyone
The worst suite I have experienced in Kuala Lumpur, mostly stayed at the face suite, platinum suite, Melia, etc. wanted to try something different, bad idea. Room is horribly hot due to sun, the AC is inadequate. No USB port. Laundry detergent NOT provided, who travel with detergent. 2 little bottles of water per day with extreme heat.
The first room the AC did not work properly and had to switch
There are some screw on the floor,So it is very dangerous to us. The air condition equipment are not control.
Good location
Stayed at this central hotel with friends. Booked the 2 bedroom apartment and was not disappointed. The apartment needs a little TLC but overall the stay was good, very quiet area, lovely swimming pool with shade. The apartment was well stocked.
Breakfast was included in our stay at Tartine and Tipple which is situated just outside the hotel. The quality, quantity and presentation of the breakfast was excellent.
Stayed here last year as well and I feel like the rooms are a bit dated and probably need some further renos. The AC in the room was a bit weak even after I asked and got someone in to change it. It was ok, but couldn't really get it colder. The fridge had issues when I first checked in, they had to change a new one. And finally there were ants ! They popped up only if you left sugary food out on the tables though.
Location wise, it's still really good. Next to several big and popular attractions.
Nearby coffee shops (zus within a five minute walk), small supermarket (selections etc) and pavilion about ten minutes away.
Oh another plus is the size of the room and the fact that they have a washer and dryer available.
It's more an upmarket apartment than a five star hotel. Still decent though.
Great location and great staff
My sincere advice to anyone reading this is to avoid this establishment.
After travelling for 24 hours I was looking for some rest and recuperation time. Hoping for a sanctuary, instead I was placed in a room adjacent to a renovation with constant banging and drilling.
I attempted to call the operator:no answer.
I attempted to call the front desk:no answer.
I attempted to call room service:no answer.
I attempted to call concierge:no answer.
I went to reception, no one understood my complaint. No one could help. I asked to see a manager; eventually a duty manager appeared and said they’d arrange a new room the following day.
Thankfully the new room offered some respite but there was a sewage smell in the shower unit and the bedding and towelling were of poor quality.
WARNING
Take photos of all the equipment and damage in the apartment. They take a deposit of RM300 and will take funds from you even if you were not responsible for the damage.
I had a chipped glass which broke during my stay. I was charged RM60 for this even though it was not my fault. This must be the most expensive tumbler glass in Malaysia: you’ve been warned!
Thankfully I took photos of the cigarette burns in the first room otherwise they would have charged me to have a sofa recovered.
A wholly disappointing experience which leaves a very low opinion and trashes the reputation of the E&O brand.
Thank you Mr. Fareed for your hospitality.
Pros:
Excellent Location: The hotel is conveniently located about 1 kilometer from major attractions like the Petronas Towers, KL Tower, and Bukit Bintang. If you are coming by KLIA Express from the airport, note that KL Sentral station is more than 4 kilometers from the hotel. Avoid taking taxis at the airport as they are too expensive; it's best to use a Grab taxi.
Spacious Rooms with Balconies: The rooms are quite spacious, providing ample space to relax. Many rooms come with balconies. Be sure to request a room facing the Petronas Towers for a stunning view.
Large Swimming Pool: The swimming pool is of a good size, perfect for a refreshing swim.
Cons:
Mediocre Interiors: The interior design of the rooms leaves much to be desired.
Limited Breakfast Options: The breakfast policy allows only one dish and one tea, which doesn't feel worth it.
Unusual Jacuzzi: The jacuzzi has normal water instead of hot water, which is quite odd.
Persistent Security Guard: The security guard at the main entrance repeatedly asks for tips, causing delays for both me and the taxi driver.
Unhelpful Front Office Staff: The foreign front office staff working in the night are not knowledgeable about the local area which is walkable distance from the hotel. When asked for directions, they suggested using Google Maps, which showed a longer route compared to a shorter path just behind the building.
Non Operational Sauna: The sauna is currently temporarily not operational as the door is broken.
Overall, while the location and room size are great, the service and amenities could use significant improvements.
It is a badly maintained building. We changed rooms twice due to leaking showers and bidets, aircons not working, the safe didnt work.
However, the saff are very friendly and accommodating. The location is not really great though.
