Restaurant war sehr schön, Frühstück haben wir nicht eingenommen
Die Lage des Zimmers war für uns mit Hund nicht optimal.
An amazing experience from the quality of the hotel and rooms, great staff, and amazing food on the premises.
Sehr gut!
My husband and I stayed here for three days this month primarily as we wanted to experience a local rail journey.
Whilst I was investigating all hotels I noticed this hotel had a good rating despite it being located on an industrial estate. Weighing it all up I booked and that was my first mistake. I really don't understand why anyone would rate this hotel so highly given our experience. I guess if you are not used to hotel accommodation your experience may be very different to ours.
First up the greeting. It was at best frosty and unwelcoming. We had communicated with the hotel prior to leaving the UK and said we would be arriving after 6pm. We arrived at 7.15pm and were given a minimum of information and a key to our room. There was no information regarding the restaurant as it is not run by the hotel but outsourced. This includes not having a menu at hand meaning we had to go to the restaurant to see what they are able to offer. Rookie error as far as I am concerned.
The room was clean although baking hot as no option to open a window(understatedly) but the AC was a joke. They offered an in house fan but that was as inadequate as the AC itself. So we boiled throughout the night until we left the following morning.
The common areas are tatty in places where a quick touch up of paint would have shown more attention to detail and first impressions. The cleaner managed to forget replacing glasses for the water and also managed to lose my electric tooth brush holder. It was there when I unpacked on a shelf below the sink and not there when I repacked. There ws just blank faces when I enquired at reception the only offering was it may have fallen off the shelf. Presumably onto the floor but it wasn't there either.
Given the location of this hotel which honestly didn't bother us as there was a free and very good bus service into the town, you would have thought the staff would have been keen to make an effort with guests.
The restaurant staff appeared to think they were doing you a favour by serving you although the food was goos despite a hiccup with the order which was quickly put right.
As for breakfast forget it if you pride yourself with knowing what a decent breakfast should look like in the mornings. The quality of the food was poor and some of which had been around longer than it should been including fruit and meats. There was only ever one member of staff on at any time and its clear general oversight was noticeable by its absence. It is best to offer no breakfast at all rather than pull together scrag ends and leftovers from the day before and hope no one notices.
It is clear to us that this hotel is happy to tick over anything else seems an effort and at times beyond their capability. If it is to succeed further down the line then some one needs to lead from the front and encourage the staff to take pride in their jobs.
View from our room was excellent. Day travel card was helpful.
None
La chambre, sa grandeur, son équipement, la propreté. Excellent également l’arrêt de bus devant l’hôtel.
Rien de particulier à mentionner, si ce n’est l’éloignement du centre ville. Difficile de rejoindre le centre ville à pied.
Modern gut organisiert
Leider airconditioned wenn auch nicht anders machbar‘
Leider hat das Restaurant am Wochenende geschlossen
