Review about The leaf

My wife & I stayed here 17/11-22/11 and, after the initial poor check in procedure, the stay was very comfortable.

We arrived at hotel approximately 1430 & didn’t get into our room til approximately 1630. There were a few more issues upon arriving to the room but all these were sorted by the evening so can’t complain about their customer service & efficiency.

We stay in room 8205 that overlooked 1 of the 2 pool areas.
The pool area, that we were close to, had the swim up bar & snack area. The other had no amenities.
There are no lifts in the apartment blocks.
The pool bar holds happy hour cocktails from 1500-1700 but closes at about 1730. Pool is open 0700-1900 which I found strange closing the bar that early.

The rooms were spacious with a large balcony area. The bed was a kingsize and firm. Bathroom was large, IMO could have been set out better (not much room between toilet & shower) & shower pressure could have been better.

We stayed bed and breakfast. There was a vary of fruits and pastries. On order, the chef can cook a Thai omelette or poached egg and avocado on a bit of toast, which is very tasty. There are a few Thai dishes available.

The hotel is approximately a 10 minute walk to the beach. There is a slight hill coming back up.

Khao lak itself is very quiet, so I suggest paying 200 baht in a local tuk into the next village Ban Bang Niang, asking to go to Starbucks, or take a 20 min flat walk along.

There is a lovely Thai restaurant just outside the hotel called Go Pong. Doesn’t look much but absolutely lovely home cooked Thai food.

We arrived as a family and on arrival at 4pm our rooms were ready however were incorrect, not enough beds.
Rooms dated but clean and the beds are possibly the worst hardest beds I have ever slept in or not as the case was. My children were on put you up beds which they described as sleeping on a table.

Breakfast was ok, if you arrived late/ 9:30 then not alot there.
Staff stunk of cigarettes.

Pools ok, food by pool ok cheap beer in comparison to other hotels in our travels.

Gardening starts at 8am so forget having a la6 morning and maids are knocking at your doors by 9am.

Really disappointed with this hotel and wouldn’t stay here again.

Our Favourite resort, we manage to stay at least around 50 nights. For the last ten years. Staff welcome us back with open arms. The last 3 years, we have picked a Villa room. Girls already had a toppa on my bed, everything perfect. Breakfast egg station are always happy to make them just right and a new coffee machine. There are plenty of hot dishes to pick from, fruit, etc. Toaster bread and pastries. You must try there Italian restaurant wonderful food and cocktails. Two pools, one with stairs. Beautiful gardens and plenty of birds. Reception staff are very helpful. Outside pharmacy restaurant's supermarket's.

Lovely staff, 2 pools one with swim up bar. Close to lots of restaurants and the beach.
Good breakfast and lunch selection. Visited in low season, expect it could get cramped in high season

Fabulous resort with staff who couldn't do enough for you. Always friendly, smiling and just wanting to please guests.
The fun pool with the swimup bar was fantastic. Breakfast was varied and delicious.

Good facilities,very friendly staff,great location,would definitely visit again,easy access to beech ,food good ,pool bar even better.

Ret slidt hotel, Vi havde 4 værelser og måtte skifte værelse (2 af værelserne) pga skimmelsvamp. Meget fugtigt på især badeværelser. Havde besøg af kakerlakker x flere på værelserne.
Flot og rent poolområde.
Skøn og rolig beliggenhed.
Ok morgenmad.

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at The Leaf on The Sands in Khao Lak for 15 nights, and every moment was truly wonderful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality from all the staff, who were consistently friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay.

A special mention must go to the amazing resort manager, Jeerapha (Oi), who went above and beyond to ensure we were well looked after, especially when it came to our dietary requirements during breakfast. She and her fantastic team made us feel so welcome and cared for, and it truly made a difference to our overall experience.

The resort itself is beautifully maintained, peaceful, and conveniently located the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. We left feeling refreshed, grateful, and highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable and heartwarming stay in Khao Lak.

Very nice resort part of a bigger complex from the same company. A lot of greens around. 2 swimming pools to choose from and a good basic breakfast included. Room is spacious and clean. Great ratio for price/quality. Front desk staff smiley and polite

Just back from our 3rd stay at the Leaf for 17 days. We are an adult family of 4 and were amazed at how many other guests we recognised from last year and the year before which gives an idea of how fond others are of the hotel too. Also it's full of staff we remember from other trips and who also remembered us. What does that say about the ambience / atmosphere and value? The gardener is still making the gardens look amazing. This year we saw squirrels, chipmunks, lizards and so many varieties of birds. The room cleaners are still doing a super job in the rooms. We loved the difference the power washer was making to the steps and pathways. Very eco friendly way of cleaning. Thank you to all staff for being so friendly and helpful and dedicated to the standards of their hotel Special thanks to the chef who made me a pepper and cheese omelette every morning and to Pai who made us gin fizz cocktails and passionfruit daquiris at Happy Hour. Loved our villas this year

We had a wonderful stay at the leaf on the sands.The facilities were great. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned daily. The swim up bar was great and the lunch time was snacks were really tasty. A great spot for all local shops and restaurants. Would highly recommend. We will definitely return.

As alway the staff in Thailand are always friendly and helpful, this hotel is amazing value for money,my apartment overlooked the swimming pool which is very clean and a very good size,plenty of sun loungers,the room was very clean, plenty of hot water ,shampoo and shower gel, not stupid little bottles, not the best bed for me but everyone is different, breakfast was really nice,plenty on offer,nice coffee,I would definitely visit again if I were staying in this town,thanks to all the staff for making it a very happy visit.

Der Garden ist sehr schön und gepflegt. Das Personal ist super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Erwähnenswert ist auch die zentrale Lage und das leckere italienische Restaurant.

Beautiful gardens and pool area, bedrooms are spacious with balcony / patio, fridge, hairdryer, bottled water, tea/coffee making facilities, safety deposit box (free) and toiletries, however becoming a little tired and when walking to the upper floor rooms you notice the dirt and unkept areas, shower window (above) was filthy, stairwells dirty…
Upper rooms are more private, all seem to have lovely views
Staff were amazing in all areas of the hotel
Pools were lovely, we enjoyed the quiet one as by our rooms - the “lively” one is where the bar is which play Coldplay songs repeatedly each day

Breakfast was fantastic but again restaurant is becoming tired but lots to choose from and coffee good !! In the evening it turns into an Italian restaurant
Location - not the best in my opinion, you are in the town so lots of restaurants within 2 min walk but all situated on the main busy road, not ideal for younger children or pushchairs
Beach is about 15 min walk - again not the best as only hotel restaurants along the front
We definitely prefer area around the Merlin resort or bang niang ..
Tui rates this hotel as 4 + , definitely more like a 3 +

We wouldn’t return but mainly because of the location

We stayed first 2 weeks in April and there was rain most days late afternoon !!

This place has it all from the second you get to the hotel, the staff are so helpful and friendly, lovely accommodation always keep clean, tasty food for breakfast, a stone throw from the beach and seconds from shops and eateries. The gardens are kept beautiful tidy and it’s so peaceful even being close to all the amenities

Our last part of our 14 night vacation, staying here five days.
As always, the greeting at reception from the team was excellent after a 2 1/2 hour journey/transfer from Krabi.
The room was nice, however was a bit dated / in need of furbishment.
The hotel itself was excellent. It’s sister hotel on the beach you could access the beach with a card or reception supplied. This hotel with the restaurant had access to the main drag through restaurant, which was great. Two pools one busier than the other.
Staff extremely friendly.
The only negative was the Wi-Fi you had to sit on the Veranda to get a good reception as apparently the boxes are scattered around the garden….
Other than that excellent stay, and would happily stay here again.

This is the 4th hotel that we have stayed in on this trip and sadly the worst. Firstly the positives . Could not have been better situated a short walk to many shops and restaurants and beach maybe 15 mins walk away,staff very friendly, room quite nice with comfy bed good aircon.swimming pools good

Lighting in room very dark,shower not far off useless,Internet only occasionally works in the room,towels not changed at all in a week .room hardly cleaned at all, breakfast ok
But it was also the cheapest so maybe you get what you pay for.could be much better with a bit more effort!
