Rubbish dirty discusting don't go there. ...was very disappointed would never visit this hotel again if you want to book think again don't even bother stay away
Place was really dusty, bed was hard, when said to the hosts that there was ants in the bathroom they where really rude although they did change us rooms, breakfast was ok, wouldn't stay again unfortunately
Neglected, filthy and OVERPRICED. Dirt and dust crawling around the room. Dosent seem to have ever been updated. I will advise anyone to never stay here.
Genuinely one of the worst hotels I stayed in all year. I stay away from work once or twice a week and I will have to stay here again. Hotel looks like it hasn’t had any sort of maintenance or interior upgrades since the early 2000s. I had to wait five minutes at check-in even though I was ringing the bell, finally I moved through to the restaurant/bar where a lady came out to check me in and that was the last time I saw other person in that hotel all evening. I went out for dinner because it didn’t look like anyone was home. All of the lights were off constantly, until you walked past them. Corridors and room smelled funny, not completely awful but just not right. The room amenities were awful, Kettle was dirty, cobwebs in the corner, blinds were broken, chairs had stains on them, bed was uncomfortable and all of the bedding just felt extremely cheap. The bathroom and shower was also quite a low standard, with a lot of line scale and mould, extremely cheap toilet seat which felt flimsy and sharp. Couldn’t even walk to my car without brushing through a bush. Personally, would’ve rather slept in my car or literally anywhere else. No one to even have a word with in the morning as I checked out at 9 am and the barriers were down on Reception. Would not recommend!
Hotel rooms do not match images shown on the website! Room was absolutely outdated and l would question the health and safety standards with a ceiling that looked like it was about to collapse!
Cracks in walls, cobwebs and spiders everywhere. Dirty table cloths, broken blinds, damaged sink...just generally very run down.
On check out, it was like a ghost house, shutters down during normal business hours and doors locked with no members of staff available... probably too frightened to hear any negative feedback!
Carpark bays not outlined and not all bays are functional. No lighting either! Overgrown plants to the entrance from the carpark - you literally have to tackle your way through.
Most disappointed!
The first impressions were very negative. The front door was locked, and the entrance falling apart. The car park was full of weeds and no clear bays.
Once let in, the reception area was cluttered and messy.
Nothing in the first 10 minutes to attract anyone.
The paintwork is mostly dark grey, making the room and corridors very dark and gloomy. All the paintwork was chipped, and lots of walls had large cracks.
Staff were hard to find, however friendly, when we did get to speak to them.
Cleanliness was at best average.
On a positive note, it is not bad position for the town, within walking distance of the main centre.
We will not be returning.
Rooms spacious and clean. No Air Conditioning but outside night temp 70 degrees. Had windows to open. Good value for price. 15 minute drive to port to catch cruise ship. Would definitely book again if in area.
The room was super hot even with all the wondows open. The hotel needs a lot of tlc. The plumbing was really noisy, the decor was old and worn, and thd bed was so hard and uncomfortable.
The hotel is easy to find and has a decent sized car park at the rear of the building. The outside looks tatty and the adverts/awards in the windows are all dated. We checked in with no problems and the guy was very helpful although he wasn't based on site and closed reception as soon as we had our keys. This was unfortunate as once we got to the room we realised we didn't have the wifi code. The hotel number was permanently engaged and there was no sign of anyone on the ground floor.
The room was clean, reasonably modern, spacious and had a desk for working. There was no internal lock or bolt on the door which was frustrating and there was also no pole to adjust the venetian blinds to close them, which meant we had daylight in the room at 4AM. On the plus side, we were on the second floor so could leave the windows open to get some cool night air in.
Overall, a mixed stay at a reasonable price.

Used the hotel as a night stop before an early ferry. It served thus purpose well was clean fidy with an easy check in helpful manager / owner. The hotel is a little dated but tidy and great for our 1 night stay only 15 minutes from either the ferry or eurotunnel.
Quaint wonderful restored in wonderful condition. Fantastic proprietor who attends to your every needs. Bountiful English breakfast. Dinner was superb. Enjoyable stay. 👍
Quiet, clean and good location. We were very kindly welcomed.
I understand that the hotel was taken over short time ago. It will take some time and effort to bring it up to a more modern standard, but neverrheless we had a good stay there. I hope we can return again!

Have visited this hotel before, knowing how comfortable we were we booked another visit.
Our stay was enjoyable, the meal was good and the pleasant drink in the bar made our visit.
Will return again, probably in the new year, when the weather is warmer
I was met by Raj the very pleasant owner/manager and he was very attentive. My room was clean and comfortable.
Breakfast the next morning was excellent and cooked to order.
Would definetly stay again.
The food is really outstanding! Every meal we had was full of flavor and cooked to perfection.
Hands down, some of the most delicious food they have served lately! They utilize only the freshest ingredients and ensure that each dish is properly prepared.
I am still fantasizing about my lunch at "Wards" Each mouthful was delicious, and the presentation just blew me away.
The staff went above and beyond to make the dining experience memorable. They were attentive without being intrusive.
Very nice and clean, good was great
This has to have been the worst and dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in.
Rooms not cleaned, with no apologies.
Beer lines in the bar not cleaned and staff selling cloudy beer.
Staff untrained in all aspects of hotel hygiene.
Managerial Father and Son operation with no idea of running a hotel.
