The hotel is old and must have been grand once. It’s quirky due to age as you can expect. I could smell dog when I went into the reception. There is no parking. The rooms were ok, the bathroom was squashed and was really old and tired. there was a previous guests dirty sock under our bed. The games room was shut, breakfast was good.
It’s old fashioned and slightly shabby but good location and staff were lovely. Back rooms were quite noisy because of bus terminal. Worthing is nice.
Business trip for one night. Room was comfortable, breakfast was great.
However, the best part was when I desperately needed to work and print some documents ready for a presentation, I was having a terrible time getting everything to work. Member of staff on duty Patricia looked after me amazingly, coffee, helped me find cable etc....above and beyond, excellent service, thank you Patricia for turning a bad day into a better one !
Great location and very pretty from outside.
Some rooms at little dated and in new of TLC, but would still use hotel again.
The hotel is dated but fairly clean. The room had a great view but the TV didn’t work, only 2 out of 4 windows opened. And there was no mention of the walk up and down stairs on uneven floors to get to your room.m, not ideal for those with disabilities.
Having booked a family room that can sleep up to 5 people, I was disappointed to find that you have to pay for additional guest if there are than two guests. We did the right thing and paid, but then there wasn’t enough towels in the room for the additional guest. With the room being so far away from reception, we decided not to walk back and get a towel. There should be spare towels stored inside the wardrobe to avoid the inconvenience.
The stay was otherwise pleasant and I slept very well.
Wife suffers from sleep apnoea and needs oxygen during the night via a machine that needs plugged to mains electricity. No plugs near the bed (which is fine) but flat refusal when she enquired about the possibility of borrowing an extension. Not quite life and death but not helpful. Managed to source extensions in hotels globally but not here. We have now decided to take our own. Don’t know why I didn’t think of this in the first place! Nice breakfast though.
Lovely hotel and great staff! Would definitely staff there again
The hotel was in a good, central location abs our Superior Room ? came with a direct sea view.
However, the bathroom floor was steeply sloping which was disconcerting.
The electric shower had a very weak flow abs and was horribly noisy when in use. There did not appear to be any hot water in the bath taps.
The wall mounted tv was tiny.
The hotel was definitely in need of renovation.. and was quite shabby in several areas.
Breakfast was very good and service was excellent...
The room arranged to us has a noticeably steep slope in its structure, which made it feel really disorienting. The exhaust fan was incredibly loud and vibrated a lot. Using the bathroom felt like being on a boat. As soon as we stepped into the room, we felt dizzy, and the feeling lasted the whole night. We chose to stay out and returned to the room at late night. It was an uncomfortable stay overall. Perhaps, other single rooms are better which we didn’t know.
BTW, the service of the restaurant is good.
Location and availability is good, book early. Parking convenient, right by the beach, not far from shops, bars and restaurants. (Suggest Heartbreaker for good cocktails).
We stayed in an economy twin room, for one night, which was very clean and in a quiet location towards the back of the hotel. We were not bothered by noise from the bus station.
The shower had a strong flow and quickly ran hot, which is always a plus.
The full breakfast was included in our room rate and was good including local sausages.
All staff were very welcoming and friendly.
For us the hotel had a bit more character and quirkiness than some of the bland chain hotels.
We enjoyed our stay.
The room didn’t had a levelled floor.I always thought I go downhill. Toiletteris been a soap dispenser on the wall. Dryer was hidden in a draw.
Whenever we are going to Worthing we always try to stay at the Chatsworth Hotel. We like it's location being near to the pier bus station and cinema. Some say it is a old fashion hotel but we like it that way.
Continental breakfast poor value and choice; television very poor; no BBC; small; other channels flickered in and out.
Very tired, needs refurbishment. Breakfast was poorly staffed and not very well thought out.
The staff were great and very helpful. Patricia and Monica were especially helpful. Gave us great assistance in many different areas. have a new word we use now "chunkybit". great stay will be back
Decent value...great location. Tired hotel but did the job
great looking hotel from the outside, but very dated in the room, my room was on a tilt and the bed mattres was so lumpy and uncomfotable, the walls were thin and heard everything
Asked for two singles, so took a back of the hotel room to accommodate this to find two singles together with no room to separate them, so a double really with separate quilts. The back of the building is by a bus depot so if you opened the window it was even noisier. Not impressed for £96.
