Not up to expectations and certainly not worth the money paid.
Pros:

The room was lovely and it was clean

Cons:

The service could have been much better . The communication could have been better like telling people that the venue does not take cash . And that the rooms are a walk up a gravel road . For the money paid ( which was quite a lot) it was very disappointing.

Pros:

The grounds were lovely!

Cons:

The room was FILTH. Dirty carpets. Broken mirror. Bed was on a slant. They watered down our sambuca. Google why sambuca goes cloudy.

Pros:

The vast majority of our stay was amazing. The open access areas were far beyond our expectations. The staff were very helpful & the Thai Restaurant was fantastic.

Cons:

Obviously, if I was able to stay for cheaper that would be a big plus but seriously, the only genuine suggestion is to offer better lighting for when it is helpful. The windows were small & were mainly obscured by blinds and the remaining lighting created a subdued effect.

NOT WORTH THE MONEY
Pros:

Stayed here because we had tickets for the New Year's Eve party. When we arrived we were told that our room was not in the main building ( we had a room with the bath at the bottom of the bed) and that it was a few minutes walk away???? So we had to drag our cases down a lane, past private cottages then over gravel and into a driveway of a normal looking suburban house, our room was in side here. £485 for this, room only ---- no breakfast!! The attention to detail is just not there, no plugs for hairdryers on dressing table, no mini bar, bath had holes in it, there had been a leak in the ceiling water works as the velvet was stained, the door to the bathroom was missing and another had not been put on, the light in the wardrobe was hanging off and prevented the door from closing, the iron steam did not work properly but my ABSOLUTE bug bear was the broken toilet seat. Within 5 minutes of arrival my husband was on his hands and knees trying to fix it. JUST UNACCEPTABLE. We walked to the bar to meet our friends and walked in to a man holding a screwdriver whom we asked if he could fix our toilet seat which he gladly did. How does this happen, that housekeeping did not report this. If the loo had been cleaned properly they would have noticed this. This room should really be taken out of service and bought up to standard. We were severely disappointed. However the party, the food, staff and entertainment were first rate. But stay else where if I were you.

The Reece’s Review™
Pros:

⭐ The Reece’s Review: Crazy Bear Stadhampton ⭐

Stay: Couples’ weekend, 2 nights

If you’re looking for somewhere that feels indulgent, characterful, and just a little bit outrageous—in the best possible way—this is it.

From the moment we arrived, the Crazy Bear delivered exactly what it promises: a wonderfully quirky, country-style escape with bags of personality. Every corner feels intentional, dramatic, and unapologetically bold, yet it still manages to feel cosy and romantic—perfect for a couples’ weekend away.

🍽️ Food & Drink
Simply put: outstanding.
Every meal felt like an occasion, with beautifully presented dishes and flavours that genuinely impressed. This wasn’t “nice hotel food”—this was destination-dining level. Whether it was dinner or breakfast, the quality and consistency were spot on.

🕯️ Atmosphere
The atmosphere is where the Crazy Bear really shines. It’s intimate, moody, and charming, blending rustic countryside vibes with luxurious eccentricity. It feels exclusive without being stuffy and relaxed without ever being boring. Ideal for switching off and reconnecting.

👏 Service
The staff were fantastic across the board, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A special mention has to go to Sophie, who went above and beyond to make our stay feel personal and memorable. Service like that is what turns a great stay into a return visit.

💭 Overall
This is the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit. Unique, indulgent, and full of character, the Crazy Bear Stadhampton is perfect for couples who want something a little different—without compromising on quality.

Would we visit again?
Absolutely. And we’ll be recommending it to everyone we know.
