Waste of money. Misleading hype and over rated property

The Vintage Gulmarg is an over rated property which is not worth even Rs 2500/- a night. I really dont know what the hype is all about.. Some of the run of the mill highway hotels are better than this one. Booking.com charged me Over Rs 22 K for two night stay in June 2025...going by the raving reviews I paid such a high price. Dim lit, Cramped property with stinking carpets and worn out spring mattresses which are unfit for anyone to sleep. The beds are like soggy bread loaves and will give you back aches for sure. To avoid hurting my back, I had to ask for an extra mattress and sleep on the floor. The restaurant is very small with very limited menu for breakfast. Only the location is good but except steeply prized studio rooms all others can only get trash can view from their windows. BEST AVOIDED.

An excellent experience and value for money.
Pros:

Overall it was a great experience, right from check in to luggage moving to rooms , the cleanliness of the rooms . All the staff was very nice from front office to waiters serving in the dining hall. Room service was excellent. The best part was the food , variety, service. Buffet breakfast was very good , lots of options .

Cons:

We visited on Jan 11th n 12th 2025. Freezing in the Lobby during winter Had to remind staff to keep the fireplace in the lobby burning. If not, they wouldn't care. We had to remind them for room heaters, and they provided portable waters in high rooms after several reminders. Had to call the IT guys to operate room TV. The hotel should give the guests access to TV in their rooms other than having to call them each day to scan and enter their password.
