Wonderful facilities.
Breakfast is amazing.
Beach location on the point collects seaweed. Managed well by beach team.
We had a lovely holiday at the Intercontinental Sanur. The service and amenities are wonderful. We had wonderful breakfasts everyday and options for lunch and dinner that was fantastic. The pool is luxurious with wonderful attentive staff. We will be back!
Having stayed at this property during its former days as the Regent and Fairmont, it is genuinely heartbreaking to see what has become of what was once a beautiful beachfront resort. The decline is impossible to ignore. From the moment we arrived, the hotel appeared to be in a serious state of neglect and disrepair, to the point where we checked out almost immediately and relocated to Andaz Bali instead.
The property today feels completely run down, with peeling paint, visibly deteriorating buildings, poorly maintained public areas, and landscaping that looks abandoned in places, including dead trees and unkempt gardens. The swimming pool area appeared unsafe and badly maintained, lighting throughout the resort was either dim or non-functional, and there was a persistent sewage smell across many areas of the property. Rather than addressing the root issue, the hotel seemed to attempt masking it with an overwhelming amount of artificial fragrance.
The rooms were in an unacceptable condition for a hotel operating under the InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort name. We were shown at least six different rooms, each worse than the last. Floors were damaged and worn out, bathrooms were in visible disrepair, mould was growing on ceilings, and the humidity inside the rooms was so severe it genuinely felt as though it was raining indoors. Air conditioning units emitted a strong musty smell throughout. It honestly felt less like a luxury resort and more like a building suffering from years of deferred maintenance. The screens at the balcony are stuck and inoperable with weed even growing on the rails. Outdoor furnitures once holding Mini Bars and TV in the outdoor terrace were padlocked shut like they do not want to bother with maintenance or service it. All the luxury in room features from the Regent/Fairmont days were removed as a clear sign of lack of effort and cost cutting.
There also appeared to be aggressive cost-cutting measures throughout the guest experience. One particularly disappointing example was the use of generic unbranded bathroom amenities instead of the standard Byredo amenities typically associated with InterContinental. Combined with the overall condition of the resort, the property unfortunately gives the impression of being under serious financial strain and hardship even the staffs do not have proper uniforms.
The only positive aspect of our experience was the staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, polite, accommodating, and genuinely tried their best to help. They handled the situation professionally and with empathy, and it was clear the service team was making every effort possible despite the condition of the hotel itself. Sadly, no amount of good service can overcome hardware and maintenance issues at this scale.
This was once a truly lovely resort when it was Regent/ Fairmont management, but in its current condition it falls dramatically below what should reasonably be expected from an InterContinental-branded property.
We thought our breakfast wasn’t included as per our booking. However we were expected to pay $50 per person for breakfast so wasn’t expected. We ate at cafes.
Our suite and most staff very pleasant except one at reception. Won’t be back.
The moment we walked into this resort it was a wow factor. The staff could not have been any friendlier or helpful. The resort was immaculate as was the room. Food, drinks & everything were spot on. The view from our room was of a garden. We unfortunately only stayed two nights, next time will be longer. Took long walks down the beach, in front of the resort was the best. Went for a walk down the street, hazardous & soon returned.
Sanur is quiet and relaxing. I stayed a week and could have easily stayed another week. The service at the hotel is outstanding. The staff are genuinely nice and happy to go out of their way to do anything for you. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. I had views over the ocean. The hotel restaurants are high quality and the prices are much lower than I expected.
Perfect location! Right in the heart of Sanur. Rooms are a great size.
Hotel is under renovation and a bit rundown in some areas.
The greeting on arrival was lovely .
The check in staff were not overly friendly
I stayed here with friends, they have large room but dated. Weak shower pressure and bathroom amenities felt like a 3-star hotel in Ubud. Breakfast: average. Pastries weren't crispy, limited selection despite having an a la carte menu. Stingy for the price point. Would not return. There are better options in the area for the same price.
Excellent all round. Wonderful staff, beautiful beach setting, excellent breakfasts and great beach bar and restaurant. Loved our stay here. Will definitely come back
Loved the location, pool and rooms are gorgeous.
Very clean and well maintained
