The Boardwalk Hotel

A great reception when checking in but downhill from there.

Apart from reception the staff attention to residents is shocking. The room was poorly prepared, signage said do not drink the water, water is provided, we are still waiting!

Dinner in the bar was a joke, staff pay no attention and when the food eventually arrives it is cold.

We will not be back.

It was conveniently located to shops and restaurants. Food options in the hotel limited and served a chicken and vegetable soup to a vegetarian (requested vegetable soup).

The staff was unfriendly. There are no family dining options. There are no amenities in the room. The room was very hot and we couldn't sleep.

This hotel is absolutely GORGEOUS! Every detail is solidly and thoughtfully constructed, from the chair rail lining the hallway to the sliding bathroom door. But form without function is of little value, and the staff brings the function in spades. Everyone we met went out of their way to answer our questions. Special shout out to Reginald at the concierge desk-he was kind, knowledgeable and generous with his time and helped us to book an amazing outing! He knows the area and the hotel inside out and made our stay even better.

The property is located across from the beach-it’s an easy 5 minute walk to the water and the pier as well. There are many restaurants adjacent-don’t skip Hello Beach! for some truly delicious food. There are also several restaurants and bars within the property, and a gorgeous indoor pool plus a stunning outdoor pool as well. We will definitely be back!

It was a beautiful location and the stay was comfortable. The hotel was clean and well kept. The breakfast buffet was delicious and a lot of variety.

Always a pleasure staying here. The staff make it worth it. The breakfast is very good. Rooms are clean and the hotel is walkable to everything; the beach, mall, shops, etc.

Amazing stay. Great hotel. Wish the breakfast had water and sparkling water included. Awesome how centrally located for all Ironman activities.

Nice place

Great location in Summerstrand. Having the mall right beside us for beach and restaurant access was excellent. Enjoyed the pool both days but it really needed to be vacuumed on the second day. Breakfast area was lovely and the food was good but not great.

The staff is friendly, clean but they didn’t clean me room. Reception and kitchen has to co-ordinate as my daughter was denied breakfast I had to fight that she’s in the booking. It needs to improve my toilet flush was not functioning it needs an upgrade . Staff helpful and friendly. Safe environment, security is good, spa excellent

Dinner service was very slow.

Pretty Georgian style Hotel that was conveniently close to the airport and the shopping mall and across the road from the beach.

We had Large spacious room on the 4th floor overlooking the pool area and sea.

I nearly cancelled this Hotel as I read the reviews but to be fair, it actually exceeded my expectations. I don’t have anything negative to say about the hotel.

We use the spa The treatments were quite expensive for South African prices but we’re from the UK so it was reasonable for us. I did think it was a little bit cheeky that they charge Extra to use the sauna steam room which would double the price of your massage. However, the massage was exceptional experience. The spa is an outsourced supplier to the hotel sitting.

In door pool and out swimming pool there’s also a small gym with a couple of treadmills and a few other machines as useful as also water available.

The shopping mall is very close by and a couple of supermarkets. Lots of restaurants you’ve got children is a cinema and an arcade.

Breakfast was ok - buffet but included in room rate .

Platinum level Expedia members we got a free bottle of fizz waiting for us when we arrived, which was a nice touch.

They were secure car parking facility underneath the hotel with direct access into the list and straight into the hotel.

The hotel was very quiet at night. We had no loud noises which I do and we felt safe.

This was a really nice and really comfortable hotel. The room was beautiful! I did a massage at the spa too and it was wonderful. It’s not on the water but it has great views of the water. They had a mall attached to it that we walked around and at dinner there. It was very nice.

Good hotel in a convenient location. Rooms have awesome sea views. Hotel has the best Spa in the city.

Fantastic dream hotel. And we got an upgrade to a,suite room. Incredible breakfast. All great !!! The service, the swiming pool. Awsome

We had a fantastic stay at the Broadwalk hotel. Amazing service and really big rooms! Staff were all so lovely and helpful. Would highly recommend

breakfast very good check in went check out very nice but i arranged transport to airport by hotel and wasn't annotated in the system for early morning transport so i had to wait over 20 minutes.

Hotel was lovely. Easy free parking. Situated right night to a small mall where we had dinner in a restaurant on the seafront. This was great. Room was large and so was the bathroom. Windows opened fully to show sea and pool view. Only stayed one night. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was breakfast. This looked like it would be lovely but didn’t taste great, particularly the pancakes and coffee.

Nice enough hotel but super outdated. The beach area used to be nice but is really rundown these days. Close proximity to the mall and beach.
