So clean and the staff were so nice and welcoming
Excellent hotel and service. Bed uncomfortable and needs replacing room 203. The front desk was helpful and kind no issues with check in or facilities
Was clean and comfortable
Nothing
I stayed here for two weeks for work. Even though it was booked as a one bedroom, I was lucky enough to be put in a two bedroom apartment but with one of the rooms locked. My first impression is that the accommodation is on a quiet street but still relatively close to CBD and amenities by car. It is easy to find, plenty of parking on the grounds in the open, the staff have all been pleasant and helpful. Check-in was easy. The apartment is clean, spacious and well appointed. I was given an accessible apartment (for those who need wheelchair access). There is also a balcony with tables and chairs and an ashtray for smokers.
There is a full-size kitchen with cooktop, fridge, plenty of storage space in the cupboards. There is a good selection of cutlery cookware and kitchen utensils. It would be nice to have stainless steel kettle and toaster though- plastic, heat and food isn’t a good combination.
In the bathroom, there is also laundry facilities. I was particularly pleased to see a top loader because front loaders tend to harbour mould around the rubber seal, especially when the doors are left closed.
In the main bedroom there is a decent size wardrobe with shelving and drawers, which is not as common as you would think, strangely. The wardrobe shelves were dirty/dusty. I always wipe them down with my own cloth.
There are two air-conditioning units – one in the main living room and one in the bedroom.
The shower was pleasant to use. There are some amenities provided including shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
It’s relatively quiet being on a street with no other residence or businesses. The convenience having a gym and swimming pool across the road means that you can access it by purchasing a pass from reception for around $10 a day. Because most others seem to be here for work, it’s unlikely you’ll be dealing with families with children or young people having a late night. The only noise tends to be in the morning from the childcare Centre next door- of children running around playing.
The Wi-Fi is extremely slow and can drop out. Download speed is less than 5 Mbps with upload speed of 1.7 Mbps. I gave up using Wi-Fi and just use my own data. It’s also an unsecured network. I was not able to connect my e-reader to Wi-Fi because it is a Wi-Fi hotspot.
I tend to keep my apartment clean and do not require daily service. Every day that the room is not serviced, there is a little slip under the door reminding me I can get extra amenities from reception. Even though I leave my towels on the towel rail to reuse (as the sign indicates to be environmentally friendly), all my towels, including those which have not been used, are changed during room service. It’s something I care about because I try my best to minimise my environmental footprint.
Pets are allowed for the apartments on the first floor.
Overall, this is very good for Singleton, if not the best. No pests, nothing broken or malfunctioned lol. Everything is standard- ie it’s no fancy hotel, but is a comfortable home away from home. Price-wise, this Quest seems to be priced a lot higher than those in other locations.
My favourite accommodation in the region!
Quest Singleton 2 Bedroom Apartment.
We really enjoyed our stay at Quest Singleton. Great location. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Comfortable beds and a great sleep. Excellent for an overnight stay, but equally suitable for an extended stay to explore the local area. It was 30 minutes drive to Hunter Valley Gardens.
Nothing to remark on
The room was dirty, lamp shades and handles on the bedside tables were dusty, the queen bed in the room with ensuite was collapsed on both sides, it was also lumpy and hard, definately needs replacing. The air con also in this room made a screaming noise when turned on and continued to rattle loudy, so we turned it off immediately. It is winter, and we were cold, we were not able to warm the room, so we froze all night. We had to close the bedroom door to block the street light from shining into our room. The tv in the bedroom, its standby by light also kept flashing in our faces even though it wasn't on, turned it off at the power point. The toilet seat was loose in the ensuite bathroom. A guest will have an accident if not secured properly. Very disappointing for a Quest. Wouldn't stay here again.
