We were very satisfied with our stay. It’s a very quiet, peaceful, and beautiful place. The area and location are convenient. We enjoyed the view of the inner courtyard and the sound of birds singing. We recommend choosing a room with a garden view. The staff were attentive and friendly, helped us, and changed our room. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. We liked everything.

Will not return. Poor service and maintenance.

Location is good but everything else a disappointment.

Cons:

The hotel is not worthy of the IHG chain. It is only 3 stars. The maintenance of the hotel is poor. The design has flaws. The "master" light switched off completely so the room was pitched dark and the bathroom did not have a night-light at night. After I pointed this out, a technician had to bring a table lamp to plug into the bathroom floor the whole night. The water temperature in the shower was inconsistent, hot one minute and cold the next, I had to keep turning the dials so I did not catch a cold. The drapes and blinds were sharing the same touch buttons so it was confusing to make it open or shut. Only one out of three concierges spoke English (he was helpful), and they also act as porters so, often their desk was empty. When I needed to cancel a dinner reservation and there was no concierge around, I went to the front desk, a tall guy on duty 31st March evening named Gavin, was so arrogant he refused to assist, saying it's not his job to do so. There was not even a line behind me. When I pointed out there was no concierge around to help me, he told me to wait for him. I was in a hurry and got really irritated. I insisted and said I will report him to IHG, only then he reluctantly wrote down details. What sort of hotel is this???

We liked the place
Pros:

Very beautiful place with exceptional garden full of birds singing in the morning. It is literally as you in photos.
Breakfast is very rich and you may find lots of variety both local and international.
Metro is in the same building, which was very convenient.

Cons:

They kept the amenities in minimum in the room- we had family room and there were only 1 sample of shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
The last day ( we stayed for 3 days) the air conditioner was malfunctioning and staff couldn’t handle it.

Ottimo, ci tornerei!
Pros:

L'hotel è davvero molto bello, in un quartiere di Shanghai vicino a molti ristoranti, bar, centri commerciali e negozi raggiungibili anche a piedi. La camera era spaziosa, pulita, ben isolata dai rumori esterni e il letto comodo.
Ho avuto dei problemi con il termostato della camera e il personale mi ha risposto cordialmente, provando dapprima a risolvere il guasto mentre ero fuori per lavoro e poi dandomi a disposizione un'altra camera.

Cons:

La colazione è molto ricca, sia con cucina tipicamente cinese, sia occidentale. Da intollerante al lattosio mi era un po' difficile capire cosa potessi o non potessi mangiare. A parte il latte di soia, non c'erano alternative "senza lattosio" a yogurt e altri derivati.

Always a good place to stay in Shanghai
Pros:

Always nice to be back at HUALUXE, convenient location and great environment.

Cons:

They seemed to updated the ambient light control from my last visit, now you got 3 options but realistically only between “completely dark” and “full blown day lights”…
