We recently checked into Vivanta Kolkata for a quick 2-night family staycation from 28th May to 30th May, and it was the perfect escape from the scorching summer heat. Staying right in the city but feeling completely pampered was exactly what we needed.From the moment we stepped into the vibrant lobby, the signature "Tajness" warmth was on full display. The check-in process was smooth, effortless, and welcoming.The Rooms: Our room was spotlessly clean, modern, and incredibly comfortable. The bedding was plush, the city views from the large windows were fantastic, and the room came fully equipped with great amenities (including a much-appreciated coffee station and mood lighting). It felt spacious enough for the family to unwind completely.Dining: The culinary experience at Mynt was easily a major highlight. The morning breakfast buffet spread is lavish, fresh, and offers an amazing variety of options to please both adults and kids. From live counters to local delicacies, everything was top-notch. We also tried their in-room dining, and the food quality and portion sizes were excellent. Amenities & Hospitality: The rooftop swimming pool was a lifesaver for a refreshing afternoon splash, and the entire property is maintained with strict hygiene standards. What truly sets this property apart, however, is its staff. Every team member—from the front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant servers—was courteous, attentive, and always greeted us with a genuine smile.Conveniently located right on the EM Bypass, accessibility was a breeze. Thank you, team Vivanta Kolkata, for making our short family break so memorable. We will definitely be back!
Areas for Improvement:
Restaurant Hygiene: While the food spread at Mynt was lavish and tasty, we were highly disappointed to see flies and mosquitoes inside the dining area. For a premium 5-star hotel, an indoor dining restaurant should have strict pest control measures in place, especially during the summer.
Swimming Pool Cleanliness: The rooftop swimming pool was a big attraction for our family break, but the water cleanliness was not up to the mark. It required better filtration and maintenance to look and feel hygienic.
Overall, it is a lovely property with excellent staff, but management needs to address these basic hygiene and upkeep issues promptly.
