Hyatt Union Square New York

Location was great. Room perfect. Clean rooms. Desk staff very helpful.

I give it a 5 star review for effort. We are Globalists and like to use our SUA once a year or so to book the top floor suite, which I believe is the only suite in this hotel. We love the view of it and though it's a little bit worn down, it's a cute, modern, sort of stylish design even though it's a bit dated at this point. We've also stayed here in regular rooms which are also quite nice. But .. let's get serious here, there are little issues.

For example, the power strip in the big table in the suite - doesn't work. It's hard wired to the electrical system so very difficult for their engineering team to fix - this is sort of a weird design. The furnishings in the room are cool looking but somewhat worn. When we arrived the curtains in the bedroom, which run on motors - one side of the curtains wouldn't work with the button. Also - the TV in the bedroom was glitchy. It was super cool in a funny way - it's a giant mirror and the TV shows through the mirror. I'm not sure I love the idea as it kind of makes it a bit hard to see the image, but it's still a cool effect. But - Chromecast kept freezing and not connecting, the TV controls were not totally responsive, etc. This was not a problem with my phone or the remote - it worked fine with the TV in the living room.

But, they really went out of their way to try to fix it for us. They sent engineering multiple times and the first time they tried just rebooting the TV and it worked - for a little while, then stopped working. They sent an engineer up again and he has been spending hours trying to fix it, disassembling the mirror and swapping components and now they're here replacing the entire TV. I have to admire the effort. Front desk has been very supportive.

I have to commend the staff and the hotel management for trying to make this right, even though so far they're still working on it and might not succeed at fixing it before we leave. But, I'm glad to see the effort, so five stars it is.

Breakfast is also very good in the restaurant. Unlike some Hyatts they aren't trying to nickel and dime us - we are getting the fully breakfast every day for no charge.

The stay was great and i would definity recommend this to any one. Michelle was fantastic and really helped guiding and sorting everything for us

It’s very central to places to go without the craziness in Time Square; love the free flavored water in gym; the gym equipment and the free coffee; love the lounge in am while drinking coffee/tea

Excellent staff, especially Alejandro who went out of his way to help us with valet parking and many other things. Front staff was so friendly and helpful. Great location. We used valet parking through them.

Hotel needs a deep clean in the rooms.

We got a mini fridge brought to our room, the staff was very kind and went above and beyond to accommodate our every need. Alejandro downstairs was also very kind

Our "Go to" hotel for several years. Location at Union Square affords walking distance to most venues in NY as well as easy subway access. New renovations have streamlined the rooms and you find plenty of digital connections. The new gym is world class: dumbbells, pulley machines, treadmills, ellipticals, rower and Peloton bikes. Staff obviously undergoes continuous training and it shows.

We had a great stay at Hyatt Union Square, and Alejandro was especially kind and welcoming to my family and me throughout our visit. He consistently greeted us warmly, was attentive, helpful, and made us feel genuinely cared for rather than simply processed as hotel guests.

There was also another doorman who was excellent, although unfortunately I did not catch his name. Both of them added a personal touch to our stay and represented the hotel extremely well.

The location was very convenient, but it was the friendly service from people like Alejandro that made our experience especially memorable. Thank you for taking such good care of my family.

I had a wonderful stay at Union Square Hyatt! Every staff person was friendly and helpful. The names I remember were Katie and Michelle but also encountered several gentleman as well. The room was lovely, I especially liked that the towels were HUGE! Thanks for a great experience!

I was pleasantly surprised with the Union Square Hyatt. The room was super clean, updated and actually quiet. I found it very easy to navigate the areas I wanted to visit. As a solos traveler I felt very safe in this area. Many eateries around and easy access to the subway if needed. I will definitely stay there for my next visit!

Great and quick overnight stay in Union Square! Front desk was especially friendly but the highlight was our interaction with Alejandro who helped us with valet parking and our bags and went above and beyond!
