It was located well , had a nice restaurant and a nice pool area to sit around.
We had booked a room with a balcony and outdoor setting which the description of our room verified. We were allocated a room that had neither . When I asked fora room that had both , I was told they could do nothing for me, were not apologetic and seemed upset that that I was not happy with their lack of solution. We moved in to the room but shortly were offered a smaller room with an outdoor setting in what was a walk way and no balcony . We took it.
Let’s jump to it. We really liked our hut, it was comfortable, clean and spacious and had good soundproofing.
Our bone with Hotel Kimal is the price they are charging!
We paid nearly AUD$900 for 3 nights which was nuts, even by San Pedro standards, for a hut that was actually across the road from the main accommodation.
The staff, Sevla & Sol, were absolutely lovely and super helpful.
- there was no aircon, no tele, no kettle, no hairdryer. I don’t use one when travelling….but the point is you are charging ~AUD$300 per night and for this amount I would expect all of this.
- the free water and tea on offer was actually over the road. Why would you not set this up so that the many guests staying in the huts over the way didn’t have to wander over late at night for a refill?
- the ridiculous non value add online registration form that you make everyone complete in your reception area before they are given keys to their room, with the same info you already have from bookingdotcom and from taking our passports. I have seen many people complain about this in their reviews, but it’s ignored. It’s an unnecessary piece of admin after a long day of travel that is not asked for anywhere else and is putting your poor and lovely staff under added pressure they do not need - everyone who was checking in at the same time as us was unhappy about it.
- we contacted Hotel Kimal twice in the month or two leading up to our stay and both times the response from a customer experience perspective was lacking. We reached out six weeks prior to see if we could alter our dates, not cancel, just change them slightly and all we received as a response is a finger point to the T&C’s. We asked for info on what they had on offer re yoga classes and the spa, and again received a less than helpful response.
In contrast, we had to change our dates with the beautiful people at a nearby hostal twice due to an issue with our Uyuni trip and our forward plan to travel to Argentina, and it was sure no problem, let’s see what we can do to help.
- it’s worth mentioning that although the staff at Hotel Kimal itself were fab, Sevla & Sol specifically, the girls who work at the Kimal Spa need a change of job.
El personal muy amable. El restaurante ofrece buenos platos a buen precio. Recomendable.
Hotel tranquille et belle décoration.
Accueil sympathique.
Quaint bungalow style rooms each with outdoor seating areas, on site bar and restaurant, property blended well with the area and surroundings, hotel arranged an airport transfer for us.
Guests must inform front desk what time they want breakfast the day before, which was not initially explained at check in. Shower took a long time to get warm, but we are supposed to be saving water because it’s in a desert.
Proximity to town centre
Noise of neighbours at 4am
Hotel super bem localizado. A localização é o ponto alto.
