Have the rooms been updates since the 1980's?
Pros:

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very close to subway - but not very close to Times Sq.

Cons:

Rooms & hotel as a whole are 40 years out of date. Rooms look more the Bates Motel of Psycho than a modern NYC central hotel. Have the rooms been updates since the 1980's? It is South of Times Sq, but so is Staten Island - this is a long way from Times Sq. 8 minute walk or more.

Breakfast was..... American, if you like artificial colours, preservatives & stabilisers you are in for a treat. But American guests were gobbling it up, so there you are.

Convenient location
Pros:

The location is convenient and walking distance (5 min) to subway, walking distance to Times Square, lots of delicious food places nearby . Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. Decent breakfast for what we pay. But there are less food varieties. Overall the stay was satisfactory

Cons:

Some of facilities are outdated. Specifically the shower room in our bathroom is leaking to the outside. So each time we had bath we had to dry the outer floor.

I had hoped for better quality of hotel after the ratings I seen
Pros:

The location was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Cons:

The state of the room wasn’t great, burns on the carpet, wallpaper peeling off, bathroom floor covered in water after a shower

Wonderful hotel!!
Pros:

Everything about this hotel is AMAZING!! I’ve stayed here every summer because this hotel is in the best location, and everyone is incredibly kind and thoughtful. This past time (June ‘26), I got to know a couple of the people at the front desk really well - Stephan and Hailey. They were always going out of their way to answer my questions and get to know me. I always felt like I was in my second home. I highly recommend this hotel!!!!
