Great amenities, helpful staff, fun bar, no better place to be during 2 days of rain
Pros:

We loved our experience staying at the Angelo Engel. We ended up with a couple rainy days at this point in the trip and I'm so glad we were staying here at that point. We took full advantage of all the spa and swimming amenities, the daily snack hour from 4-6pm, live music in the bar, negroni night, etc. The breakfast was good, room was huge, views from the room were great. The location is super convenient to get anywhere in Ortisei and to get up to Seceda or Alpe di Suisi. The bus stop is just a minute away. Also a special thank you to the staff - I got injured on the trail and they helped my partner organize transport, etc.

Pros:

Fantastisk beliggenhet i veldig koselig by. Svært hyggelig og imøtekommende personale. Gratis parkering. Enkel tilkomst til alle fasiliteter i Gardena- dalen.

• The hotel staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay.
• The location is excellent.
• The outdoor areas and lobby are beautiful and well maintained, giving the impression of a quality 4-star property.
• The hotel offers a variety of activities, similar to what you would expect from a 4-star resort.
• The breakfast was good, although fairly standard.
• The bed and mattress were comfortable.

Cons:

The guest room was very disappointing for the price.
• There was no air conditioning, which made the room uncomfortable during the warm July weather.
• There wasn’t even a basic coffee machine in the room.
• The bathroom developed an unpleasant odor after use.
• Other than the bed, the furniture felt cheap. The chairs were extremely small—to the point that an average-sized adult could not sit comfortably.
• We stayed on the first floor, and the hallway carpet looked worn and felt more like a budget motel than a luxury hotel.
• While breakfast was decent, it lacked many features typically expected at a 4-star hotel, such as a toaster and a made-to-order egg or omelet station.
• Guests were assigned the same breakfast table every morning, which felt unusual and limiting.
• The spa was just average, with a very small hot tub, and both the sauna and steam room didn’t open until 3:00 PM, significantly limiting their usefulness.
• The front desk is only staffed until 9:30 PM, which is surprising for a hotel at this price point and can be inconvenient if you need assistance later in the evening.
